Bamboo Steamers do wonders for food and keep things hotter longer than a microwave ever does.
30 years ago from as seen on tv I got the hand hammered wok gadget that came with a bamboo steamer. Best purchase utensil wise I ever made, this year it started to unravel the time had come to get a new one (30 years, was worth it) This new one is of an impeccable design, it seems to be put together in a stronger fashion than my previous one. It also fits in my old wok (which I use almost daily anymore). I have also learned over the years that bamboo steamers can be as fast as a microwave, and even better? FOOD stays HOT twice as long. I've even learned how to boil pasta while I steam veggies. Then take the container set it aside and use the wok for steak/chicken uncle bob...(kidding) and the whole meal comes out phenomenally! I've learned how to with the steamer and a wok prepare a meal like from a Japanese steak house such as Kobe's or Arigatos, (I know this is about the steamer but 1 thing about the wok? It's about the best damn popcorn popper I've ever used!) Foods are fresher and have a bright color to them. I knew it was time for a new Steamer, I wish I would have done it sooner. (for those who don't know Microwaves are only flash steamers, it evaporates water molecules which is why breads always come out like styrofoam, the Bamboo steamer uses nature not electronic beams and it does make a difference) For those interested in eating healthier start with a Bamboo Steamer and a real wok (not flat bottomed)

Great Silicone Liners, Perfect for a 10" Style Bamboo Steamer! Good Airflow, and Non-Stick!
These silicone liners for your bamboo steamer are absolutely fantastic. They're so much more convenient and cost-effective than buying packs of disposable paper liners or trying to hand-cut parchment every time. The silicone is thick enough to feel durable, yet breathable enough to allow steam to circulate efficiently, and they do a great job of preventing food from sticking, especially dumplings. You get a 6 pack at a great price, which is perfect for keeping a few as backup. To help avoid any confusion, while they’re labeled as 10" liners, that’s referencing the steamer size, and as most of these steamers actually have a 9" ID, these fit perfectly inside, so they’re spot on, and exactly what I was looking for. Cleaning is super easy too, a quick scrub and you just let them air dry, and they're good to go again, very fast and simple. All in all, they keep your steamer cleaner, keep your food non-stick, and help provide even cooking, while reducing your set-up and cleaning steps. Highly recommended!

Good for anything honest! Except soup.
I think this is my $12 steamer that I got El cheapo because it was a return. So it's basically great for one or two people. However, you really need to be able to stack food in it without completely blocking the steam. I got a set of I think six silicone screens that are 10 or 12 in that work okay and they clean well so I can't complain but I think I would prefer if you can find them cheap or even. I hate to suggest this make them because they're so easy to fabricate using maybe a bowls, plastic bowls or something and they're so expensive individually. They're like 10 bucks to get a hard plastic platforms. You really only need one but two would be fine if they had short legs. So I have cooked up to three layers successfully. It's good for basically anything that can be steamed. My favorite is something like chicken nuggets, but isn't it more interesting because it has vegetables mixed in with minced chicken and so they make like tiny little breaded meatballs and they're really good. But I even cooked hamburger in it. And yes there was a lot of Grease and don't put that down your drain. You have to basically throw it in the trash. I've cooked the dozen eggs at a time. Although I prefer and egg steamer because you can control exactly how they come out and I love that. With this it's just going to be hard boiled. And that's really the advantage. It's simple. As long as you know you're never going to overheat it because it's always going to be at a certain temperature, which is quite a bit hotter than boiling water, but not that hot. Certainly nothing than what the damage you can do with a microwave oven. And nothing is going to be Chris but it's still going to be really tasty. So all those breaded things that you can put in here. I think my first dish was pretty sloppy and that was a frozen lasagna. Which by the way is about the same price per pound in a 5 lb Walmart special as a pound bag of tortilla chips. So go figure. So if you're traveling? Oh and by the way this does stack. The base fits inside the lid and so it's only about 8 in and easy to store. I just keep it in a trader Joe's bag along with my egg steamer, a rule of towels and so on. All set to go on a wild squirrel adventure.

Great Re-usable Liners
Seems to work well in my metal steamers. Have not tried them in the bamboo steamer. They washed out well by hand in a tub of hot soapy water. I used a silicone basting brush to gently get a few pieces of a wonton wrapper that was stuck in some holes. Then rinsed in hot water.

Fantastic find!
The quality is nice and the cost was reasonable. Definitely worth it.

Steaming Up a Storm with This Bamboo Beauty!
I'm usually a one-pan kind of cook, but lately, I've been on a dim sum kick, and let me tell you, this bamboo steamer has become my new kitchen bestie. It's the perfect size for my wok, and the two tiers let me steam up a feast of dumplings, veggies, and even fluffy little bao buns all at once. No more waiting around for batches to finish!Speaking of feasts, this steamer saved the day when my in-laws came over for a surprise visit. I whipped up a spread of steamed shrimp and har gow, and let me tell you, they were gone in a flash. Everyone raved about how perfectly cooked and juicy everything was. Bonus points for the included liners and chopsticks – it felt like a complete dim sum kit! Now, I'm not a Michelin-starred chef, but this steamer makes me feel like one. It's easy to use, cleans up in a breeze, and adds a touch of Zen to my kitchen counter. If you're looking for a healthy and fun way to cook up some deliciousness, I highly recommend giving this bamboo steamer a try. You won't be disappointed!
