ok but no extras available
it's a great set but impossible to buy any extras for. It seems to be a non-standard gauge so we couldn't find any similar products anywhere that would allow us to expand the set or get more trains. Would be 5 stars for the money if it was expandable, so it's great for anyone just looking for this set without a kid who gets excited and wants to spend their birthday money on building something more complex

Cheap but you get what you pay for.
Expected this to be mains powered rather than 2x AA batteries (not included). Track is fairly flimsy and easy to knock out of shape when assembling so it pays to take your time. Quite difficult to get the train on the track as it requires you to turn on before placing down. Would also be nice to be able to turn to sound effects off (very loud!). Having said all that, for £18 it works fine and looks nice at the bottom of our Christmas tree. A solid 3 out of 5!

A lovely train set and very good value
The train set was delivered next day and very well packaged. It is a lovely retro train set and a lot is included and very good value. It is a Christmas gift for my Husband and we haven’t got space for a full layout but this battery powered set will be fun for him!

Smashing little set - perfectly safe as no electricity needed. A good buy.
Perfect for my needs! As a Professional Cake Designer, I required a small train set for a Wedding Cake installation. Wiring/access to electrics was an issue so a battery operated train was ideal. Easy to clip together the track, getting the train onto the track is a bit of a faff but TBH, a little patience is rewarded with a smashing little train that makes chugging and choo-choo sounds, it's inexpensive so ideal as a first train set for small children. I would happily recommend (make sure you use good quality batteries NOT cheapo's)

Had a very disappointed birthday boy. Set it up put batteries in it and it would make a noise but didn’t do anything else. Returning and buying locally.

Good quality product and value for money. Great Christmas gift for my 3 yr old. Also, delivery was quicker than promised.

The train did not work to begin with. It needed fixing. There was a loose connection in the motor that took a few days to figure out. It should not be sent this way but should have better product inspection.
