works just fine if you want to carry and run your own Ubuntu on the go. Just a suggestion, If you plan on doing more with your Live Linux (Like I want to run RDBMS with live linux) you might want to order a bigger storage stick, a 15GB or more.

I bought this expecting a quick fix to a basic problem Windows wasn't working, so I got an Ubuntu drive.The drive didn't work.At my first attempt at communication, the worker didn't respond, at the second, it lied to me about not recieving anything, when Gmail has never failed me once, and it'd take Gmail to fail twice in a row for him to have not been lying through his teeth.Okay, I didn't like the worker, and English was clearly not his first language.... I need to press on because it didn't work, I file a dispute over it not working, I talk to the person in charge, after learning that he had clearly no idea of what he was doing and was completely unqualified to be selling technical parts, he said he's be back the next day with new information and a fix.I waited, I waited more than a week when he said he'd be back by noon, and he never came back. He either ignored or forgot about me.In the end, I had to get an IT worker from my mother's workplace to work on it, I would never recommend Lots Electric Fun, nor purchasing this flashdrive.

The product works as described. The drives comes with both 32-bit and 64-bit Ubuntu, in bootable format. It also includes means for installation.For a small fee, you get a usb 2.0 drive with a bootable Linux distro pre-installed. While you can make your own bootable drive, it's a hassle in my experience, and I don't like wasting usb 3.0 flash drives for such a task. This package gives you everything you need for less than the cost of a usb 2.0 flash drive, so you can't beat it.The drive itself is mediocre quality and isn't name-brand--I wouldn't use it to store any important data for instance. But that's not what it's for and again, the price is nice.There's a great deal of documentation online for bootable Ubuntu, so the support is strong.I'm a web software engineer. In terms of OS, I typically only use Unix and OS X. However, I recently purchased a cheap ASUS x55leb01 to run Windows and Linux. (It was a more convenient option than setting up VMs on my development laptop, and it allows me to do some pen testing and exploring without worry as well.) Despite the description saying it would come with Windows 7, it came with Windows 8.1. Anyway, I've had some difficulty running Ubuntu 14.04 as a second OS. I partitioned the hard drive, configured the machine's firmware and boot process and installed Ubuntu with this drive. Unfortunately, there's apparently some issues with 14.04 and Windows 8.1. The installation process is going to require some extra work. So this isn't a reflection on the product itself, it is just a note to make sure you look into compatibility and understand how to use this product.Overall, I'm happy with this product and recommend it for anyone seeking a quick solution for bootable Ubuntu.

It seems to have all the files on it but I could not get it to boot on 2 different computers, both running XP. That may be the fault of the computers but I don't know. I'll have to get or make a bootable cd and see what happens. If the computers are not bootable from the USB port then I'd have to revise my review afterwards.

does not install on the dell bought a few months ago

I'm using this to update an older HP laptop that I used for teaching before I retired, and it had Vista on it. So far the install has been seamless. I need to get it to talk to my wireless router but that shouldn't cause problems when I get to it. So far the experience has been good.

Does not look like what I ordered, when used does not work as advertised.Cancelled Amazon membership because am sick of constant headaches.

It installed flawlessly and my pc now has windows 8.1 and ubuntu. Ubuntu is so superior to windows that I imported all my bookmarks from chrome into ubuntu and now use it exclusively. I also use microsofts onedrive cloud from ubuntu. Its amazing that everthing works. After years of strugling with windows this is an absulute pleasure. Everthing literally everything works with no hanhups. This program is a godsend.....
