Cat Toy

This toy will always engage my cat. It's really great for making him jump up and around. The wire is key. With wand toys and string, my cat can grab anywhere along the length with his claws. This means you have to move all of it faster than the cat. He can't do that with the wire, so you don't have to be as fast. But, unlike with a laser pointer, he can pounce on it. It also seems like it's very hard for my cat to see the wire, so the cardboard bits at the end look like they're a moth when it's in the air. I can also drag it along the ground and he has difficulty keeping up and pouncing on the end. The wire is also incredibly bouncy. It's not possible to hold it still. The slightest bounce sends it wiggling all over the place. My cat wanted a good hour or two of intensive play time with me every day when I first got him. With this toy, I can hold it while typing so he can play while I'm at work. The cardboard is a perfect weight. Putting other toys on it weighed it down a lot... still pretty entertaining, but not as captivating to my cat. We've got a 7 ft cat tree and we've rigged it so one of these cat dancers dangles from the top with some string. With just a little bit of encouragement from us, he'll bat it around. Eventually my cat managed to tear the cardboard off one, so I ordered another.

Sometimes, it's the simple things that are the best and the Cat Dancer toy is one of those delightful, simple things. Our ginger feral cat wouldn't even let me complete opening the toy before he leapt upon it. Then ensued a lengthy play session. I can tell I'll need to order more when he manages to chomp the cardboard to bits, but at this price that's not really an issue.

Our kitten loves this thing! My wife and I will just hold and swing it back and forth while our kitten runs wild, trying to catch it. It's hours of fun for both us and the kitten. When he does catch it, he likes to chew on the cardboard ends. It's been 3 months, and the one we bought still holds up even though it's chewed. It would make a great gift for any cat lover in your life or for your own cat.

I have two older cats. Both enjoy playing with this to some degree. They seem to like it more than other toys we tried.

First, let me just say that the toy itself is great and my cats love it! Now onto the issue with this order. As other reviews have said, people (myself included) felt like they were going to be getting two of the toys for the price we paid, but instead we only got one. I'm with Napoleon when he said 'Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence.', so I'm going to assume it is an issue with the image being shown not being the correct one for the listing. Hopefully the seller will fix this, since it is a great product and arrived on time. Now, would I have paid $7 for a piece of wire with a couple rolls of cardboard on it? Probably not. $3.50 would have been the most I would have paid. So, had I known I was only getting one toy for that price I probably would have looked elsewhere first.

We initially received a Cat Dancer in an auction basket we won at a charity event. I was initially taken aback by how simple it was -- a piece of piano wire with some little cardboard rolls threaded onto it -- but the instant I waved this in front of our cat, he lost his absolute mind and attacked this thing with an explosive energy I have never seen before. I wave it around and drag it on the floor so he has to chase it, and he will chase this thing with gusto until he's audiby panting and has to flop over and rest. The cardboard things do fall off after extensive biting but at $3/ea, I just order them two at a time and they are now a consumable product in our household. Playing with this toy is practically the only thing our cat wants to do anymore - he places it in our high-traffic areas and runs over and yells at us to play every time we walk near it. The basket of expensive cat toys has gone untouched in the last 3 or 4 months since we got our Cat Dancers.... LOL

Simule les mouvements d'une mouche ou d'un papillon. Mon chat adore y jouer, que ce soit avec moi au bout du fil ou... tout seul, en prenant une extrémité ds la gueule et en essayant d'attraper l'autre (et parfois il y arrive). Avec moi, mon chat y joue pdt 5-10 mn à chaque fois, tandis que tout seul, il peut y jouer 20 mn d'affilée, que ce soit de jour où de nuit. Parfait pour aiguiser ses capacités de félin.

My wife & I bought one in 1991 when we adopted our 1st cat and she totally loved. Had not seen these in years, but when my wife found them on Amazon we bought two. Our new cats love them as much as our old cats did.

My cat LOVES this toy — she goes totally wild chasing the little wire and cardboard bits around! I didnt think she’d like it this much becuse it looks so simple, but wow she plays with it alot. It's super fun and keeps her busy every day. I’d definately buy it again!
