I don't think there's anything wrong with the product, but about 10 minutes after taking only one pill, my skin on my face, neck, chest, arms and legs became very red. My ears and my face felt warm, like someone had slathered Tiger Balm all over me. And my hands and arms were tingly. I immediately called the poison control center for advice, and they said my symptoms sound like an overdose, and to take an aspirin. I drank tons of water, then I took an uber to the urgent care. After two hours, I looked normal again, and the doctor warned me about taking vitamins. I have taken vitamin B complex pills before, and some of them had 100mg of niacinamide, but I have never had a reaction like this to any vitamin. I wish I had taken much less of the vitamin, like a half a pill.. I would not have gotten so ill. Lesson learned.. next time I try a new vitamin, I might take a sliver of it to see if I have any reactions..I wasn't in pain or anything, I think I was more just worried since I have never seen anything like this before. My heart rate also increased, so I was more worried than anything..Update: I had originally taken the vitamin Niacin / B3 because I had read an article that the vitamin helps your body fight Staph infections. About 6 hours after I left the doctor's office, I noticed the bump on my forehead had flattened almost completely. I would say around 90%. Previously, it looked like someone had implanted an m&m or a small button under my skin. The doctor I saw did not think it was a staph infection, he said it was most likely a pimple. But I thought it was a bit large to be a pimple.. well whatever it was, staph or pimple, it is now gone! I dont know if I would recommend someone in a situation like mine to take a whole Niacin pill, but maybe start with a very small part of a pill and see if it works.. then go from there

Everyone in the comments complaining about flushing clearly doesn’t understand the point of Niacin. B3 especially if you have not taken it or have only taken niacinamide— will cause a reaction of flushing ( itchy skin, etc.) this is an uncomfortable but desired effect which does become less intense the more you do it. The flush oxygenates the body. If you can’t handle the flushing then you should try a niacinamide, taking it with apple sauce, or a B3 that will not cause a flush (until you get your body acclimated). Don’t dis the product because you tried to run before you could walk. 100 mg is not a very large dosage- I’ve seen doctors recommending 1200-2000mg a day. Consult a pro, do your research. I take these before sitting in the sauna to promote deep detoxification.

I got this product based on some research online which led me to believe niacin would improve my circulation. I took one 100mg tablet twice a day for about two weeks. My circulation got much worse and my right foot blew up like a balloon. Never again will I try this stuff. I am writing a addition to my review. Some time after I reviewed this product, I was contacted by Solgar, who read my review, and they told me they were giving my comments to their research department for review. In retrospect I did not do enough research on my own before selecting and taking the vitamin supplement and I did not consult a physician. I just read anecdotal reports and made what I believed to be a conservative decision. Solgar refunded the full purchase price and I have to say they're customer service is second to none. Its up to you what vitamins you take in what dosages, but you should absolutely make an informed decision.

My husband's been using this instead of taking a statin. So far so good! And none of the devastating side effects that you get with the abive mentioned drug.

I've gotten this product several times and you only need one to feel the flush. The flush let's you know it's active and working. Also the distinct smell that Niacin has. I just sent back 2 bottles because there is no smell other than a slight hint of orange for some reason. First I took one and felt nothing. 100mg of Niacin you should feel, especially if you haven't had any in 4 months. So that's when I noticed no Niacin smell at all in the bottle. So I took 2 more to see if it's just a lower dose, and nothing. So I sent it back for an exchange. Got the new bottle and same thing. I thought maybe it's a new recipe so I took 3 instead of 1, and nothing again.. I wonder how many people got this and haven't noticed. Now I wanna check everything I take because most stuff doesn't kick in like a Niacin, so I can be taking it and not be getting the benefits. I buy a lot from Solgar and now I'm wondering what other products are not good. I need to make a test kit for vitamins and minerals to see if it's legit. I would never think this could happen on Amazon, but I guess you need to test everything now..
