I have several different products from these folks. I love my diamond plate. They also make a 2 sided portable sharpener. This is a diamond rod. Just a few runs and i can keep my blade keen. Price was right too.

This item does what it says it does . Two strokes on either side at 25 degrees angle and rolled blade sharp , two more on either side and razor sharp . I don’t generally give any kind of salute to something I pay for as I expect the product I pay for should perform as stated , alas more fool me . This diamond steel does what it states and I’m buying one for my son . I’m not sure he deserves it .

It works well; just have to have the right angle which is set at the handle. Just hold that angle all the way down the ceramic sharpener. It works better than the steel I have. Recommend.

Great tool

I bought this for my granddaughter’s birthday in June as part of a traveling knife set. Bought one for her older sister and she loves it. This one likes to cook and is really good at it. It has good size without being to big and fits nicely in the hand. The angle on the handle helps when honing the blade.

I'm very pleased with this honing rod. It has a nice, solid feel to it, and the handle is comfortable to grasp and hold. The rubber end tip is effective to keep the rod firmly planted in place when it's used vertically, and can be removed should you want to use it in a more freehand fashion. The 20 degree angles on the handle are helpful. One quibble is that I would have liked to see a 15 degree guide in addition to the 20 degree ones, but it's not a significant issue.This works great to hone an already sharpened blade to an excellent edge. I use it before each knife use and it has significantly extended the time before the blade needs a full sharpening. It's quick, easy and effective -- the three criteria I look for the most when it comes to keeping a blade at peak sharpness. Very good value for the price.

The knife honing stick worked fine for a few months. I then noticed that the knives were not getting sharp as before. Upon close inspection, I noticed that the pores of the sharpening rod were clogging up. I used abrasive pads to remove the upper layers that were clogged and the sharpening rod works relatively well. However, it now clogs more often and has to be cleaned more often. I don't think I will purchase this again. The rod is too soft for honing hardened knives.
