Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Music Player with Microphone - Pink

I saw this and loved it in the box. My kid loves the thing and says it's one of the best presents Santa brought her but we have three issues with it.1 - The gosh darn thing weighs a ton (it holds FOUR C batteries) and I've now become paranoid about her dropping it... ON HER TOES! I understand that for the price you can't ask for much more keeping in mind they're already charging you for it to be essentially indestructible but I would've much rather had something I could recharge and not have to constantly be worrying about it accidentally falling on her toes. Unlike the toy, my kid's feet are not kid tough!! =/2 - The cord that hold the mic to the unit is far too short. We tried stretching it over and over to try and get some length out of it but it's a bit frustrating for my kid because she can't even plop the thing on the couch or the floor and still sing. She has to be holding the thing the whole time and I can tell at times it drives her nuts when she sets it on her play table and tries to make her way to the middle of the living room only to have the entire unit fall to the floor and end up hanging from the mic. My guess is safety reasons but I was really disappointed to find the cord was the really stiff kind that gives very little in addition to it being really short.3 - The song that was used as one of the demo songs on the unit only plays the demo length and then jumps to the next song. No, I did NOT leave the tab in! For some odd reason it does not finish the song and my kid is really disappointed about that because that just happens to be her favorite song of the preloaded ones. We have also tried repeatedly to hit the RESET button on the side of it to no avail. I'm hoping the site has the preloaded songs available for download and I can just load them back onto the unit. Keeping my fingers crossed there. If that doesn't work I may need to just contact Fisher-Price. Unfortunately, because we didn't buy this locally but through here, a return on a defective toy is much easier said than done.Overall, a really fun toy that could've used a little more work. =)

My daughter loved it immediately even with the cheezy music it came with, and then when we uploaded her "own" music she was thrilled and takes it everywhere with her. No longer wants to watch videos or tv for the past four days since her birthday.Kudos to fisher price for building a tough toy with easy to open packaging too!Anyway, the only problem with it is the feedback on the mic. She wants to sing into it but when she pushes the button she immediately gets feedback and she stops (her own voice quality is bad because of the feedback, while the recordings/MP3s play very clear.) its a little better if you hold the mic far away from the unit but the cord is not that long and it's awkward. :(

I purchased this toy online even after reading some very bad reviews on Amazon. I was getting my 2 older girls ipods for Christmas and had to have something similar for my 3 year old. This was my best hope. It is large enough that she can't lose it or break it. It is small enough that she can carry it. Even my 16 month old likes to play with it.As for the reviews that said you can't put much music on here, I think you just don't know how to work the radio. I have put an entire 7 Disney Soundtrack Albums on my childs MP3 and it still has a little bit of memory left. This is a 256 MB storage MP3, and I currently have 150+ songs from those 7 albums on it. It DOES hold a lot of music. The only downside I've seen is that the microphone give some feedback because the mic cord is too short so you can't get very far from the MP3 player when singing so you do get the feedback. The only other downfall is that all 4 of my kids fight over it even though the 6 and 7 year old have their own ipod - it doesn't have a microphone they say!Anyway, great, great MP3 player for such young kids! I hope this review outweighs the ones who say you can put but 5 or 6 songs at a time on it. They must not have read the instructions!

Got this for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas and she LOVES it. Pros: Durable, Fun, Easy to use, love that you can put iTunes music on it. Cons: The button on the microphone needs to be bigger, she forgets to press it a lot. The speakers have "feedback" noise when she holds it too close, which is A LOT since the cord to the microphone is so short. And it is very heavyOne of her favorite gifts though, she plays with it all the time now!

I purchased this for my 4 year old. She loves to sing and she is delighted to now have a microphone to sing with. We haven't yet downloaded new songs, she's still enjoying the kids' tunes. Sometimes her 6 year old sister borrows it for the microphone (to make her "teacher" announcements when playing school!)So far the only caution I would give is that this is a heavy toy. It is not something a toddler is going to carry around while singing. My daughter can carry it, and then set it down for play. It was a surprise how heavy it is. But then again, I will add the words solid and durable. It's hard to imagine my daughter breaking this toy.Great fun for my little songbird!

This is a diva toy and great to get hauled around by your little singer. Design is easy to use for a 4 year old and the sound is really good. I was surprised how well the microphone worked and it was very easy to load music onto it from laptop which makes life easier for sure. The batteries were my only concern when purchasing this and still are. I recommend you invest in a good set of rechargeable D batteries so you don't break the bank with what will likely be a very used toy. If the batteries didn't add so much weight and cost to the music player I would have given it a 5 star. I would still buy it again thought regardless.

Easy to use, very robust, straight forward to buy music from iTunes and download onto this player. Good value for money too. There doesn't seem to be any other preschool mp3 players around to compare it with, but I think it's brilliant. The volume goes quite loud too, as some of these sort of toys don't go loud enough, but this one is great! Would definitely recommend!!!

Ordered in advance of a birthday and when it was opened some weeks later found the USB connector was totally bent - bought the batteries and it worked for all of 5 minutes.Rubbish - wouldn't recommend buying from this seller

Ich habe den Player vor 3 Jahren zum 1. Geburtstag meiner Jüngsten gekauft. Bis heute hält die Begeisterung bei ihr und bei mir an!Toller Klang, spitzen Qualität, leicht zu bedienen, unverwüstlich! Erklären brauchte ich ihr schon bei Übergabe gar nichts. Die gerade 1-Jährige konnte den Player sofort bedienen. Er hat mehrere Treppenstürze und Sandkastenbesuche überlebt. Wenn die Knöpfe durch Sandkörnchen, Kekskrümel... mal etwas gehakt haben, habe ich sie einfach auf höchster Stufe ausgesaugt und siehe da, alles wieder ok. Anders als bei dem CD-Player läuft die Musik ohne hopsen und haken, sogar wenn sich der Player mal wieder im freien Fall befindet. Dank dem dicken Gummirand haben auch noch keine Möbel unter diesem Gerät gelitten.

Habe vor cirka 1 1/2 Jahren bereits einmal diesen MP3 Player gekauft. Ist leider unglücklich runtergefallen und dabei kaputtgegangen. Habe mich aber wieder für dieses Gerät entschieden, warum, leicht erklärt: meiner Meinung nach ausreichend Speicherplatz da das Menü sinnvollerweise einfach gehalten ist und ansonsten eine Bedienung ohne Lesekenntnisse schwierig wäre. Trotz unserem Maleur das Gerät sehr sehr haltbar ist. Der Klang einfach toll und der Batterieverbrauch hält sich in Grenzen. Einziger MP3 Player der Kleinkindergerecht gestaltet ist. Sonst gibt der Markt ja nicht wirklich viel brauchbares her. Meine Tochter jetzt 4-Jahre alt, nutzt das Gerät beinahe täglich und die Begeisterung ist seit 1 1/2 Jahren ungebrochen.... P.S.: öfters mal neue Lider raufpacken...

Wir haben es nun schon seit einigen Jahren und es funktioniert immer noch tadellos. Selbst unsere älteren Kindern nutzen es immer mal wieder gerne . Sehr Rubust und für Kinder leicht zu bedienen. Das Aufspielen der Lieder muss natürlich ein Erwachsener machen.
