As someone who has struggled with the poor battery life of an older iRobot model, I found the Narwal Ultra X to be a game-changer. Its unique features and reliable performance place it in a league of its own.App ExperienceThe initial app syncing and connection process was a bit cumbersome. The app could be clearer about the sequence of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, which took longer than expected. Once set up, however, the app’s clean design was pleasing. One improvement I’d suggest is allowing the app to use the system's default font size and adhere to the light/dark mode settings. Additionally, adding a security feature such as Face ID to lock the app would provide peace of mind. I’m uncomfortable with any device accessing my home router without adequate security controls.Performance and FeaturesThe Narwal Ultra X’s performance is where it truly shines. After mapping my house, which features hardwood flooring and several area rugs, I tested it with both vacuuming and mopping. The vacuum noise level is comparable to my old iRobot, but the Narwal Ultra X boasts much higher suction power. It handled long hairs on the floor effortlessly, a particularly impressive feature.This was my first experience with a robot mop, and I was amazed by its cleaning power. It performed on par with the steam mop I typically use, significantly reducing the amount of manual labor required. The floor detergent that comes with it has a refreshing lemon scent, adding to the overall cleaning experience.Innovation and Daily UseCombining a vacuum and mop in a single unit is innovative, especially for someone like me who is new to such advanced robotic cleaning solutions. While robot vacuums are common and robot mops are available, the Narwal Ultra X’s integration of both functions in one device is impressive. Despite the slightly cumbersome product name, the Narwal Ultra X certainly nails it in terms of functionality and convenience.I plan to let the Narwal Ultra X automatically run daily to maintain my floors. After longer use, I may update this review to provide further insights into its performance and durability.Overall, the Narwal Ultra X is a fantastic addition to any home. It offers efficient cleaning and impressive design features that make it a worthwhile investment. To keep the cost down, you just need to buy it when it is on sale.

After having a robot vacuum that wasn’t really working on picking up the dog hair on my floors, I decided to purchase the Narwal vacuum/mop. It has been a complete game changer! It is so thorough in cleaning the floors (constantly going over itself then back into the home base station to clean and dry itself, and then back to the spot it was at before to finish cleaning). When it arrived, I set it all up, which was super easy to do, and then set it to run. It said there was extreme dirt and took 2 hours to clean, which was shocking because I swept and mopped before it arrived. However, my floors looked SO good when it was done! After that day, it takes a lot less time to clean my house. This is by far the best purchase I’ve ever made! It is pricey, but so worth it for how well it works and how good of a job it does picking things up (no dog hairs tangled!). It’s a very quiet machine when it’s running-I only hear it when it’s in the home base station cleaning itself, and that isn’t super loud. I had it for a while now and it’s still like brand new, so it’s definitely sturdy and well built. 10/10 recommend to get a Narwal!

Over the last few years, I have become more and more unable to do daily tasks around my home due to spine disease from top to bottom. This has been as much an emotional as a physical challenge for me. I am a neat freak. I once owned a commercial cleaning service because I loved to clean, not because I needed the money. A dirty home gives me anxiety.My brother-in-law has a Shark. He is a programmer like my husband and wasn’t happy with the program with the Shark so I avoided that one. He said it mops when it isn’t supposed to and some other things that made me not want to try that version. I have always purchased mostly Shark products when it comes to vacuuming/mopping but with his experience, I decided to go with this brand. Yesterday was the first day trying it out but we were impressed with it immediately. I did get concerned that it wasn’t vacuuming some of the areas because it went into part of our dinette area and then into the other parts of the house before finishing the kitchen but it has now done all of that. You are able to fix this by using the map to number and even name your rooms. You can also split areas so that you have more options on cleaning. It has a map on the app that you can see the 2D or 3D of your home to see where it has actually gone which will also tell you any areas it missed. We have a Shark vacuum that I have had now for over 15 years and never had a problem with it. This vacuum tried to climb the Shark pipe which I found amusing. You can also designate it to go to only one room and do whatever you want with the app. With my husband on calls at different times, I wanted to be able to run it when I want vs a schedule. And guys/gals, it is not loud at all!!So I tried out the mopping mode today and after a few corrective measures (realizing I need to split my open floor plan rooms and where I need to add some fencing for cords, etc) I have to say I was initially concerned it was missing some areas but as it turns out, it does basically an outline of the room and then cleans inside that which makes sense if you have ever colored in a coloring book. lol I do love that it detects a dirtier area and will spend more time cleaning that area. I noticed it spent a lot of time in my high traffic areas, especially where my husband goes through each morning with his cup of coffee to his office, where breakfast is most often spent at the counter or the kiddos’ section of the dining room table that they most often eat.Someone told me that their robot vacuum that mopped would go back to refill the mop water but would try to start over at the beginning each time. I thought mine was going to do that initially but that wasn’t what it was doing. We had a few spots on the hardwood that we purposefully did not clean because we wanted to see what the robot cleaner would do on these spots. TOTALLY took care of them.The app has so many features that are great! You can turn off the mopping solution and just use water (or whatever you put in the water but don’t forget to add that each time you refill the water tank). You aren’t restricted to do anything that you don’t care for on the programming.There are so many great features of this Freo. I am so happy to have gotten this!! It is a little more costly than other robot vacuum/mops on the market but so far, it was well worth the extra cost. I deal with some very extensive pain 24/7 from my spine. Daily tasks can be horrible on me taking me two days to recover from every day stuff for most, like the floors. I’m so happy. I am a bit of a neat freak so this purchase is going to be such a great help for me both physically and emotionally.For those who wanted to know more about my new friend, I hope this helps you!
