da Vinci Graphic Design Series 2485 - Dusting Brush - Soft White Goat Hair with Lacquered Wood Handle

I've been using da Vinci dusting brushes for years, and I find this soft goat hair version to be amazing for use when making pencil illustrations on lightly textured drawing paper. A gentle swipe will clear most dust and eraser bits, while a little bit of a harder press will get rid of all but the most stubborn shavings. It helps tremendously in keeping the side of my hand clean. They do shed a little bit at first, but that's not an issue in my application. They can also be cleaned - use warm (not hot) water and a gentle liquid castile soap (such as Dr. Bronner's), then thoroughly air dry. After a couple of years of use with illustrations and a more vigorous cleaning, these brushes get retired to become excellent electronics dusting brushes. They're soft enough to get in every nook and cranny of a keyboard and take dust off broad surfaces with a single pass.

Smaller than I imagined, but that's good. The brush width is about 3/4 of an inch wide and about five inches long. Handle is turned wood, a bit delicate but feels good. Brush is sturdy all wood and light weight. Works well for brushing eraser and graphite. Small enough to sit on a desk without taking up too much space, but large enough to clean off a page without too much effort. Bristles are long and soft and seem to be well set into the wood. Gave them a few tugs to see if any came loose, haven't lost any yet. I was surprised by the quality and beauty of this little gem and would recomend it to anyone needing a dusting or drafting brush.

daVinci brushes are the best. Having worked at an art supply store WAYYYYY back in the day, it's nice to see that they have retained their highly esteemed quality. So, I bought mine for household use - both the horse and the goat hair brushes. They're both amazing brushes. Smaller than I was expecting initially but I use them on the daily, multiple times a day. The horse hair is definitely firmer with less give. I use mine around my coffee station to wipe grounds etc. They don't shed and pick up everything. Highly recommended, exceptional quality.

This soft brush makes quick work of removing dust that can be a big problem in framing with glass. It is a quality tool that is a joy to use.

This is a great find for a useful, very soft, little brush. While my purchase was intended only for use in my bee hives, to get bees off the frames of honey when they are harvested, I had to purchase a second for dusting my delicate glass figurines. I've never seen such a wonderfully full and soft brush before. It works very well at both tasks. Now, I've discovered that it is the perfect brush to use on myself and my husband after a haircut. Sweeps away every little piece of hair, quickly and softly. I'm ordering my 3rd and 4th brushes today ... one for the haircut kit and another for the beeyard that is growing. I've had no problems with the brushes shedding excessively. A few hairs here and there, but that is about it.

Great product. I've ordered small hand brushes previously and found the bristles would shed like an angora cat. The design and product of this brush are for special use. I use it for my computer area and my wife uses it to brush crumps off the stove top? Her stove has a rubber seal around the glass top> L( Seasoning/crumbs all like to collect in the rubber seal. This brush does not shed bristles. Great design and product make it worth the price in my estimate. As advertised I would recommend this to artist and many wood-working projects. I use it to hide my trails in the kitchen! I recommend this product.

I use this brush for photography framing and it’s excellent; small enough to fit in my palm with super-soft bristles that remove any stray debris or dust particles. The brush itself is terrific and performs perfectly for its intended purpose. However, it comes shipped in a trace-paper thin, plastic wrapper, which can cause the bristles to arrive misshapen and frazzled (think a paint brush when you wash it a couple days too late); I had to return the first one because it looked like hair of a mad professor. The replacement was better but it too had a small section of crazy; I wrapped it tightly in bubble wrap, left it for 48 hrs. and all the bristles fell into place. Pro tip — store the brush by hanging it upside down by a zip-tie to keep the bristles perfect when not in use. Overall, I recommend, but wish that the shipping process provided more care & quality control.

Great brush. Great price/value. Firm bristles yet soft touch. Doesn’t lose bristles. Better for dusting eraser debris on watercolor and colored pencils art. Better than the traditional, longer architect’s brush. I keep it hanging right at hand at all times. Gonna buy another.

Fantastic little brush, I've been looking for such a thing for years. Now that I'm interested in colouring as well as drawing I figured it was time to invest in a good one. And when I saw this on sale ... well it just about jumped into my shopping cart! The good ... Nice firm bristles with a soft face. Great size, not too big or small. It can easily clean pencil dust, shavings to eraser bits without smudging your work or moisture from blowing stuff away 😥. Yet it's sturdy and large enough to clean up the work surface afterwards. Comfortable and easy to control. Brush is densly packed with med/fine natural hairs in four diagonal rows wide by 8 rows length. Minimal amount of hair loss when pulled at. Wood is varnished Over all size: 9" x 7/8" x 2 1/4". Handle 4" x 1 5/8" circumference. Brush face: 5" x 1" Bristles are 1 3/4 long. The bad... I have nothing but good things to say, I cannot even say it's ugly cause its cute. Buy one. I'm sure to find all sorts of uses for this handy little brush... I can see its use for dusting car grills and other things with nooks and crannies. I even tried it on my little dog as a joke. He loves to check out my new toys so cute ... and it totally smoothed his fur. I should put him in the show ring! Buy one, you'll love it.

This is an excellent bit of kit. Up until now I've been using a large goat hair mop as a dusting brush but this is far easier to use. It is also very effective at removing eraser crumbs without smearing graphite across the work. If your process involves lots of erasing this is really worth getting. (I find using a brush lessens the possibility of absent mindedly using a hand to flick away dust and getting finger-marks on the paper which can later ruin even pencil-shading.) The size of the brush is not as shown but 22 cm long by 2.2 cm at the widest part, tapering to a narrower handle. This brush is well-made and very good value at the same size but half the price of the Faber Castell one.
