These are known as "high leverage" nail scissors, with a short jaw and a long fulcrum distance between the rings and joint, so that you can easily begin the cut on the edge of thick durable nails. The cutting edge here has an extremely fine serration so that you will be able to more easily control your scissor during the action, and the inner blade planes have been hollowed to reduce the contact patch so that you'll know exactly where, by feel, the cutting is occurring.
