I like it
This is getting some mixed reviews and I wanted to lend some insight from someone who's played guitar for 25+ years and owned nearly every acoustic guitar humidifier ever made. My personal favorite daily use humidifier would have to be the D'Addario soundhole humidifiers. Easy to monitor and refill, little risk of causing internal damage. That said, if you have a seriously dry guitar, their is no better option than the Dampit style humidifiers with the soundhole cover. There are several options on the market and I've always been a fan of the Martin and original Dampit brand tube humidifiers. I was in the market for a new one and figured I'd give this one a try.SmellThere is a distinctive chemical smell when you wet it for the first time as many have suggested. I'm pretty sure this is simply the chemicals placed on the sponge to keep it from deteriorating while on store shelves. The smell was not noticeable until made wet. Simple solution and similar to what I do when I get a new kitchen sponge. Fill a sink up with water and some squirts of dish soap and soak and squeeze out the water about a dozen times. You can also let it sit for a few minutes and then proceed with wringing and re-soaking repeatedly until the smell is gone. Worked for me. Once done the smell is gone and you can move on with your life.Comparison PhotoI went ahead and took a photo of a few of the tube style humidifiers I have on hand. Here you can see the comparison between the standard (non-super) Dampit, the Martin, and the Grover humidifiers as well as the plastic soundhole covers for the Dampit and Grover. In fairness to the Dampit, the Super Dampit would have been the same size as these other models. I specifically left it out of the mix because the Dampit Super is over $25 where as these all cost about $15.Soundhole CoverSaw a few people complain about this, must have been there first experience with these types of humidifiers. There was nothing sub-quality about the cover compared to the industry standard Dampit cover. They are both made of the same plastic and more than capable of holding the humidifier in place while sealing the soundhole. Only complaint I have involves how the string connects to the cover. It has one of those push button rope style slides. Problem is it hits the strings and if you're placing this cover on a smaller style guitar (Little Martin, Taylor GS Mini) it may not fit in the gaps between the strings well.Only reason I give this 4 starts is the fact that the photos shown all depict this coming with a clip-on pen style clip. I've always been a fan of these and fully expected it when I made the purchase. That said I did like the loop style design but it does limit the potential to use this without the soundhole cover. With the clip you could simply clip the thing to the strings if needed,,,, with this I can't.Final ConclusionI'd buy another. It's very similar in quality to the Dampit and comes in a full $10+ cheaper when compared to the one of equal size. Once you get the stink smell off it you can't go wrong.

Worked Great
My Big Baby Taylor developed a separation in the veneer top on the seam below the bridge. A few days with this inside and the seam closed up. Use this and a room humidifier to get the humidity up to about 50%. Taylor has a YouTube video on how to use this.

It's ok
The sponge area is not big enough in my opinion. It is too narrow but it works.

Rubber too thin
Rubber is too thin so it can be easily broken.

Disappointed Not up to par . Don't waste your money
Very small. The outer rubber smells like chemicals. It will ruin my nice guitar smell if I leave it my acoustic any longerAlso the black sound hole cover is really hard. Awkward to put in place. You have to bend it .GarbageThe snake idea is a great humidifier design. However, there are similar products snake like humidifiers that work better.Martin guitar humidifier or dampit make better and are largerThe tube sponge is so small compared to the other brands.I would send it back. However, I'll try to use it in one of electric cases

should do the job
I just received and installed the unit today. One thing that is definitely different than the other is the tube that goes into the guitar. It is at least 7 to 9 inches long compared to the usual 3 to 5 inch tubes. You have to really remove the excess water so it doesn't drip or leak all over your guitar. I thought I had removed enough excess water, but I did not. Water dripped all over the top before I got it into the sound hole.I think it will do the job.

Does the job but stinks like the secret closet to Narnia!
I still use my home made ones but having an all wood Gibson I wanted to make sure that wood never cracks so I slip this into the hole when I notice the humidity dropping (I live in Alberta, Canada where is goes from 10% to 90 in a fart!) Other people mentioned it was scratching their guitars...not sure how unless you cram it in your hole lol I have a satin finish and no scuffs at all. Be gentle and not ram it on there like Skrek. Only issue I have is this thing makes the inside of your guitar smell like the secret closet to Narnia. Just get it and keep your wood happy lol

Meh they work
These preformed as advertised. I was just a little disappointed at the quality. The black sound hole cover is made of a really cheep feeling plastic. The kind of plastic you would find in packaging materials. They work great and look ok I just wish the hole cover was both made of a higher grade material and easier to put in and take out.

Easy to Use - Scratches Guitar Over Time
This is a great humidifier if your guitar doesn't have a case. You just wet the sponge and throw it on your guitar. Will expand the life of your guitar. Unfortunately the plastic that sits over the hole will scratch the top of your guitar over time. Would try to find a rubber one in the future.
