Only product like it that I've used that actually works well, it's worth the extra cost
This is my second fvoai fly catcher product my last one was bought last year (white unit) and just plugging it in I can already see that they've upgraded the LED's around the inside of the fan housing. They seem a good bit brighter than my first unit so I'm expecting great things from this new one when I'm already happy with my old one. Just plugged it into a handy micro usb cable at my desk that plugs into an open usb A port in my power strip, will test this a few days to see how many it catches old one will probably go back to the old perch in the kitchen not sure yet. Some differences that i've noticed which I think is the reason it works better: 1) Two different colored LED lights that emit different UV frequencies of light 2) LED lights are all the way around the inside of the fan casing not just in one place at the top as most of the cheaper units are designed. 3) Larger diameter fan blade (the whole unit is larger around than the other two units I bought) so in theory the bigger fan "should" move more air to suck the little buggers inside. Last big plus for this unit are three things 1) socketed power cord you can plug any micro usb cable in here or even use it with a battery if you wish, no more cords that aren't long enough 2) included 5v adapter but this works with any 5v at least 1 Amp adapter you might have laying around or off your usb A ports that could be built into your electrical wall outlets or power strip or even off a usb port on your computer or laptop. 3) 6 or 12 hour timer but I just let mine run all the time, the fan noise is almost nothing unless the house is dead quiet and even then you can hardly hear it. I wish they'd stop claiming that these catch mosquitos, I've yet to find a mosquito on the sticky board( mosquitos are attracted by carbon dioxide emissions light is not so much their thing as is true with many other flying critters). What I have caught most in this unit is small flying gnats (I believe they're called sewer gnats in NC, anyone with a septic tank instead of city sewer is often plagued with them) and moths and occasionally a full sized house fly but not many, my other traps work better for those for whatever reason. Update: A few days of use, caught lots of the little gnats that drive me nuts one house fly and what might be a mosquito..which makes sense since it's on my computer desk where I sit a lot of the time so it probably got attracted by the carbon dioxide and ended up sucked up in the bug catcher. If it's possible I think this one works better than my old one, the inner housing is a dark blue instead of the gray of the other one and the LED's seem a good bit brighter than the old unit too. Very happy with this product for gnats anyway.

works. It looks like a small fan, quiet, only see the bugs when changing pads, covers LG area
I was so careful when picking out something to help me with gnats/fruit flies. We don't leave food out. I wipe everything down well. My home is clean and I spray any trash cans a couple of times a day and all food goes down the disposal which also gets running as soon as there is food in it. Nothing I did would get rid of these pesky obnoxious rude gnats. I could not even make a plate of food without having to keep it covered while eating to keep them off my food. I was keeping a can of raid in every room in my house because I hate BUGS!There are always mixed reviews on anything but this one seems to stand out to me. I'm so glad it did. I did not have any fruit on hand to place near it, which did not really sound very sanitary, so I placed a tiny dot of honey right beside the on off switch and within 2 days I was not seeing any gnats. If I do see one it's only seen once. I actually saw it suck one in. I was just looking at it at the perfect moment. In the pic you can see that it even got some flies and a mosquito. When it came time to change the sticky pads l just laid a paper towel over the pad. It very easy to use and switch out the pads. I leave mine on all of the time. I placed one in the corner of my kitchen counter and I make sure at night when we go to bed all the other lights in that room are out so that's the only light on. I placed a second one in the bathroom off of our bedroom since that light stays out all day. This pic is after 7 days. I had thought I had taken a video but forgot to hit the start button. It's larger that I expected. The pic with the 16.9 oz. bottle of Pepsi is for size comparison. It does have the option to adjust how long you want it to run which is nice for some but I want it on 24/7. Lol If you are on the fence as to if you want to take the chance on it working you won't go wrong with this item.

Works Great! And Makes Me Want To Go Rewatch Stargate Movies
I have a greenhouse or what some people may call a sunroom attached to my house front door. I grow tons of plants in this. I have an electric fly zapper in the room that wipes out most bugs. But some still make it inside my house.I purchased a "sticky fly trap bottom" type of trap ages ago as I some of these dang fungus gnats would find a way in my house. I put it in the bathroom and it caught a lot of these things. However I was still seeing the pest issue in my TV room, computer room and the kitchen.I purchased a couple plug in things - not full blown traps like this device. They had high ratings on Amazon so I tried some. They worked...but not great. I don't know how they received such high ratings. So I bought 2 more legit gnat traps. This one that I put in the kitchen outperformed the other one I put in my TV room. I the same amount of time it caught more than the other trap. The goofy 180 degree sideways entrance for the trap worked really well. I attached a picture of what this thing snatched after several days. But it did catch more than my "fancier" gnat catcher in the TV room.I also attached a picture of this trap next to the wall mounted trap. Not a single gnat has been caught in the small wall mount since I put this other trap next to it.So this lightweight gnat trap is easy to use. Plug and go, pick if you want timer for on or constant on. It's a bit cheaper than the other fancy version I purchased. Frankly I like the look of this version better. I didn't think a 180 degree entrance would work well but I was wrong.Research gnat traps and pick what works best for you.
