REVIEW OF FORNOBUONO NAPOLI OVEN
Ordered on Tuesday, here on Wednesday, very well packed onto a small pallet measuring 63.5 x 51 cm and weighing about 30kg.Unpacking was entertaining (I like euphemisms), having opened the cardboard box I tipped it on its side with the oven the right way up. Then I could slide the oven out without lifting it. Another cardboard box sits inside the oven and that's when the entertainment started, it had become slightly bashed by its own weight during transit trapping it inside the oven body. Next I laid the oven on its side and having coaxed the box out (no, not with a saucer of milk but with the aid of a screwdriver to ease the cardboard) it was plain sailing from there, it was easier for me to unload partly the inner box as opposed to attempting to lift it in one go. Then I checked the contents against the parts list in the instruction booklet, partly to familiarise myself with the bits and partly to make sure nothing was missing. When assembling the Napoli, it is essential to do up the screws only finger tight at first so that parts can be easily nudged and aligned. To attach the body to the trolley I found it easiest to turn the oven upside down on its curved top surface and stabilise it with wedges (or against a piece of furniture) and put the upside down trolley in place in order to screw it down. You may need a drift to gently align the holes if they are a little out. (A drift can be something like a screwdriver shaft which fits loosely in the screw hole. Be careful not to damage the screw threads in the hole.) Only when assembly is finished can you tighten all screws.Additional things to consider buying are kiln-dried wood and kindling, good quality gauntlet-style high-temperature gloves, fire extinguisher, high-temperature paint (just in case you blister the paint with too hot an oven), a cover to keep the weather off. If you're new to wood-fired ovens as I am it'd be worth your while to buy a suitable book (I bought "Wood-Fired Oven Cookbook" by Holly and David Jones), one that will explain how to light the fire in the first place and what to do when you have. Not necessarily how you might have expected. It's worth researching as much as you can, on Amazon, Google and YouTube.I haven't yet tried my oven out but as soon as I have used it 2 or 3 times I will add to this review.

Avoid
I have yet to use but the oven its self looks ok once put together, that's the problem putting it together. First off the instructions are very basic making it hard to follow secondly it's nearly impossible to put together, bolt holes don't match up and if the holes aren't lined up perfectly which none of them do the bolts won't go in. I have only managed to get half the screws and bolts in that are meant to be and that took me the best part of 2 hours it's an absolute nightmare to construct. Perhaps someone from the manufacturing department needs to improve the quality testing. It's a truly awful product to put together I'm on the verge of returning it. For the money you pay for the oven you should get something that a least fits together !!

Great value for money and left to cool before I ...
I've read the other revues and was a little worried about misaligned screw holes. I needn't have worried I solved it by simply slackening off the tightened screws which gave enough movement to line everything up then tightened everything up. Using the smaller box to hold the main body upside down helped to line up the legs. I feel the criticisms as to built are due to lack of knowledge of basic engineering. I put a small fire in then shut down the air to help harden the paint and. Great value for money and left to cool before I cooked in it. I'll be buying one for my son soon.

Paint flaked off around unit.
Family barbecue, we started with seasoning one log, but the paint peeled around the sides and on the back, flaked off. Even the gauge went black on front, spoke to customer service, they were not interested. Very disappointed. We used the wood logs, brought specifically for outdoor fires.Sent pictures through of the paint peeling off and wondered if we had a unit that had faulty paint, but was told we had not seasoned it correctly, I sent pictures though of the untouched ash in the pan, to show, slow burning of one or two logs. Still not interested, so there it has sat un used since May.
