After purchasing several manual and electric pencil sharpeners over the years, this is the best sharpener I have used. It is sturdy, will clamp to shelving and accepts several pencil diameters. Gives an excellent, sharp finish to a pencil. Excellent value.

Very good and easy to use, but is difficult to get broken off leads out.

It is not possible to sharpen anything with this piece of crap. Even with 2 people: one holding the sharpener and the other one pushing the pencil and turning the crank - it just doesn't work.The bracket provided to screw it to a table is just not nearly strong enough.Please don't buy this one. Buy one which has a spring to hold the pencil (e.g. from Helix).

I spent ages looking at these types of sharpeners. I bought this one hoping it would be a really sturdy but not crazily expensive option. I admittedly didn’t attach it to the table when I use it the first time but it completely and Otle I spent ages looking at these types of sharpeners. I admittedly didn’t attach it to the table when I used the first time but it completely and Utterly missed off the first pencil I tried to sharpen which was brand-new and was literally down to half when I gave up and stuck it into a cheap supermarket automatic sharpener. However I tried a second time and it worked beautifully so I have no idea what happened the first time. I was a bit disappointed with the build quality as it does feel a little cheap on the material side. It looks nice. To be honest I think I’m going to shell out on a proper heavy metal old style type one of these. This was okay and I’m probably giving it a bit of a better rating than my experience reflects as I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt and assuming that the first time I used it I did something wrong… But I’m not sure!

. . .for many different thickness of pencil - but no good for a 'Carpenters' pencil which is oblong in cross-section. (use a chisel!) I found it possible to make corrections to the 'point' if it gets 'off-set'. Easy to dismantle to empty, but note one has to hold the pencil and feed it into the sharpener by hand for there is no internal spring-loaded 'gripper' to do this.

I found it hard to find a suitable place on which to clamp the sharpener and it took all my strength to clamp it securely so that it didn't slide around when in operation.However it does a good job and the fact that it will accommodate all thicknesses of pencil is a real bonus.

This sharpener did not do the one thing I needed it to do. Sharpen my Derwent Coloursoft and Drawing pencils to a point. I returned it.

Afilado muy bueno aunque hay que sujetar el lápiz manteniéndolo centrado pero en seguida se le pillas el truco. Rápido, preciso. Deja una punta larga y afilada así que NO es para niños pequeños. No me ha roto ni una sola vez la mina. Es necesario sujetarlo a la mesa con el anclaje que lleva, que no es una maravilla pero funciona bien. Sí se me rompiera compraría este o uno con sistema similar. Y el precio está muy bien.

Sehr gut finde ich, daß die Stifte sehr sptzwinklig angespitzt werden. Dies hat allerdings zur Folge, daß bei Stiften, deren Mine nicht genau mittig sitzt im Ergebnis diese auffällig einseitig angespitzt werden. Dies haben einige Käufer kritisiert und deshalb das Produkt schlecht bewertet und nur einen Stern vergeben. Dies ist nicht gerechtfertigt! Ein kurbelbetriebener Spitzer kann nun mal nur genau radial anspitzen und wer in Physik aufgepasst hat, weiß das! Ich kann also denjenigen, die wegen einseitig angespitzter Stifte eine schlechte Bewertung abgegeben haben nur raten, Stifte besserer Qualität und zu kaufen. Diese sind präziser gefertigt und die Mine sitzt mittig, und nicht dem Spitzer die Schuld für den eigenen Geiz zu geben.
