Superb value. Difficult to better?
These are excellent binoculars. Yes, some parts are plastic, but still good quality. How they produce these at the price I do not know. Case not great but they are never in it anyway! But of course the most important part..... the optics. Nothing to add to the previous reviews re: stargazing. Moons of Jupiter clearly visible (though remember that at 10x magnification they are just pin pricks). For astronomy I would suggest pairing with at least a monopod for best results, but plenty to see without, and not too heavy to handhold for reasonable periods. The one 1 Star reviewer I think has unrealistic expectations from the astronomy angle (see comments on the review from others - shame at least one person was put off purchasing.... their loss). Even a quite large magnification telescope will not produce a frame filling view of Jupiter!Quite thrilling to look at what, to the naked eye, looks like a black, almost starless sky, then through the binoculars, thousands of stars become instantly visible. At a darker sky location it's a breathtaking sight. Have never seen the like of it before I viewed through these binoculars. This sight is not easily reproduced through a telescope as the binoculars have a much greater field of view. Again, clear crisp spots of light with no fringing to speak of.For terrestrial use, I doubt they could be significantly bettered at any price. Bright, clear images in perfect clarity. Superb for birds and other wildlife. We have buzzards nearby and these can be viewed circling with every feather on the underside of the wings clearly visible from quite a distance.I can't imagine anyone purchasing these would be unhappy in any way.Buy you will not regret..... and great fast service from Binocular Outlet (I have no connection to them).

Excellent purchase
I purchased the Osara binoculars 10x50 to upgrade from an older cheaper pair. I have found them well made, easy to use, and they work well in low light, eg stars, with good clear views, having only the slightest colours at the very edge of the field of view. Also purchased the bracket to fix them to a tripod when needed, this will be helpful. A good buy. Would recommend highly.

Faulty product - such a disappointment!
What a disappointment after all the good reviews - I was really looking forward to using these for star-gazing. The binoculars arrived this morning but they're faulty. The eyepieces are visibly misaligned - the central focusing spindle seems to be bent and the left eyepiece moves around in its mount. I'm sending them back for a refund.Even if the binoculars hadn't been faulty I'd still have been disappointed, as they aren't as robustly made as I'd expected, and the eye relief is noticeably worse than in my old 10x42 Opticrons.

Excellent Buy
Superb. Excellent optics - used for wildlife spotting. Seem very waterproof as have used in full downpours for several hours with no problems. Also used on boats with strong winds so seem very resistant to driving spray and rain. Brilliant for the price.

Excellent value
I've found that buying binoculars is all about what you want to use them for. The Ostara Elinor 10x50 are good in the optical area and I can see why Sky at Night recommend them for beginner or casual astronomers like myself at their £150 price tag. I'm never going to be in the market for a pair of Zeiss binos at £1,800. I'd rather spend half of that sum on a 5" Celestron Nexstar reflecting telescope. However, at over 900 gms weight these 10x50 binos are at the limit of what can be held up for long periods. Thus I prefer my Nikon 8x42 at 590 gms for birdwatching where you want to keep a bird in frame for longer periods, and don't have a camping chair to relax into for skywatching from the garden or on an empty cricket pitch! Having said that I still love the Elinor's chunky porro prism feel in my hands. I'm a spectacle wearer and I had no trouble focusing them from the git-go. I also have a large floater in my left eye, but it never causes me any problems when focusing. Overall, these binos are excellent value for money. They also come with a plastic binocular bag which has a strap.

Great Product
Lovely pair of binoculars. Bought as ex demo but are as new. Can see 3 of Jupiters moons in a very light back garden at night. Orions nebula looks great, I cant wait to use them in a sky with a lot less light pollution.

slightly disappointed given the other reviews and awards
Slightly disappointed with these... in no particular order : the wind-out eye cups aren't the most comfortable and when using with glasses on I struggled to get a consistently clear image (and yes, I've checked my glasses!). Focus knob, as mentioned elsewhere, is quite stiff and hard to use and maintaining a focus on moving objects (like birds) is therefore quite hard. Supplied case is cheap and flimsy. Lens caps are not attached to the bins which I think is a design failure given the fact that these are designed to be used in the outdoors and therefore you may not have the case with you. Weight is ok, and image clarity is good if the subject is slow moving or static. I did try a pair of these in a shop before I bought, they seemed pretty good then so even more disappointed now that I've used them in the field.

Great purchase!
Fabulous pair of binoculars, I've used these for astronomy and birding and its been a match for the 'top brand' bino's that my mates have in fact one has sold his expensive pair and bought two pairs of these for himself and his wife. Also come with a very nice neoprene comfy neck strap.
