Impressive Webcam!
I ordered this JVU368-360 AI-Powered Webcam with Speakerphone. have to admit,It's features are well above my pay grade. Found it a bit intimidating, as my previous “high-tech” setup was just my laptop’s built-in camera, which made me look like I was calling from a cave. So when I got my hands on the j5create JVU368-360 AI-Powered Webcam, I was both excited and somewhat in awe. I had no idea what all these fancy features meant, but hey, anything that promises to make me look less like a shadow on Zoom is worth a shot. The quality is pretty impressive. It’s a 1080p camera with HDR, which I didn’t even know was a thing for webcams, but it really helps in bad lighting. My calls actually look clear, and the AI-powered smart tracking and auto-framing feature is both impressive and unnerving.. Basically, if I move around, the camera keeps me in the frame—no awkward “I’m getting cut off at the chin” moments. The 360-degree rotation is also super cool, but don’t worry, it doesn’t start spinning wildly on its own. You control it, and it’s really nice for switching up angles or just trying to make your office look fancy. The built-in speakerphone works well too. For a small room, it’s actually all you need for both video and audio, saving you from juggling multiple devices. And if you’re like me and get distracted easily, the remote control is a handy - no more awkwardly fumbling with the camera to zoom in or adjust things mid-call. Just do it surreptitiously! Slight downside: the 360-degree view, for me, is both a blessing and a bit of a privacy concern. The camera sees everything—like, literally everything around you - so I was a little worried about it picking up stuff I’d rather not share (random papers on my desk, my cat walking around in the background, etc.). However, there's a magnetic lens cover that you can pop on when you’re not using it, which makes me feel a lot better about the whole thing. Plus, it has a mute button for the mic, so if you’re really paranoid about accidental audio picking up, you can mute it whenever. In terms of security, there’s no external software running on your computer, and the camera doesn’t listen or record anything when it’s off - so, no sneaky spying while you’re not on a call. It’s all pretty straightforward. Overall, I’d say the j5create JVU368-360 is a decent choice for anyone who needs a webcam that goes above and beyond. It’s great for work, especially if you’re doing a lot of video calls, and the features are really user-friendly. The price is definitely fair for what you get, and I’m kind of tempted to leave it on my desk full-time now. Must make sure to use that lens cover when not around however - I’ve learned the hard way!

Wow
The j5create JVU368-360 AI-Powered Webcam is a well-equipped device for enhancing virtual meetings and online communication. With its 1080p resolution and HDR support, it delivers clear and crisp video quality, which is ideal for professional environments, whether you’re using it for work calls on Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet. The high dynamic range (HDR) ensures good performance even in varied lighting conditions, providing a balanced and natural-looking image. One of its standout features is the AI-powered smart tracking and auto-framing technology. This ensures that the camera adjusts to keep you centred in the frame as you move, making it perfect for presentations or situations where you’re not stationary. The 360-degree rotation allows for a wide range of views, offering flexibility in how you set up and use the camera. The built-in speakerphone adds to its convenience, particularly for users who don’t have external audio devices. This is especially useful for video calls in small to medium-sized rooms, ensuring that both video and audio are handled by a single, compact device. The remote control is a thoughtful addition, allowing you to adjust settings or control the camera without needing to be at your computer, which is ideal for managing meetings or presentations from a distance. On the downside, while the 1080p resolution is solid, it’s not as sharp as some higher-end webcams that offer 4K. However, for most users, the quality will be more than sufficient. Additionally, the built-in speaker may not deliver the same depth and clarity as standalone external speakers, but it’s adequate for most work-related calls. In summary, the j5create JVU368-360 webcam offers excellent features for video conferencing, particularly with its AI tracking, auto-framing, and built-in speakerphone. It’s a great choice for professionals who want an all-in-one solution for video and audio, without needing multiple devices.

Impressive 1080p Webcam
This webcam from j5create comes boxed with instructions, webcam stand and remote control with 2 x AAA batteries included. The webcam stands at 8 inches high when on the stand and has a 2 metre lead attached to it which has a USB-A and USB-C connector on the end. There is a magnetic dust cap on the lens which needs removing prior to use but also protects it after use and is useful to place back on for privacy if required. Resolution for this webcam supports 1080p and can be used through many general supported meeting applications such as Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. The camera supports HDR and more importantly has multiple configurations for AI and face tracking plus is capable of accommodating multiple people in the same location at once which is very handy. There is a large audio speaker on the back of the cam which provides clear loud audio for the meeting attendees. On the front of the camera are buttons for muting the microphone and increasing and decreasing the volume. When using the camera I found the face tracking very reliable especially when tracking the face at various awkward angles to keep the user in focus with a clear image. After several hours of use the camera never had any issues and was still cool to touch. There are additional web applications from j5create for Windows and Mac from their website where you can also update to the latest firmware. Some may argue this camera does not support 4K video although for virtually all meetings 1080p is absolutely fine with a clear crisp image and also reduces the required bandwidth especially when in use across the company network. Overall this is a good solution as a business meeting cam and is quite highly priced although does the job well with good AI technology and reliability.

This is the second jCreate 360 product I've had. I reviewed the earlier one highly in comparison to the Owl and similar products (they are not directly comparable, though). This is a larger and upgraded product that is less portable than the previous jCreate product but a more complete product, more in line with the full features of the Owl but with much better value. I have used it in small (1 to 3 persons) and medium (3 to 8 person) environments ranging from small WeWork conference rooms (fairly reflective sound environment) to dining room tables in fabric-heavy and high ceiling all-glass rooms. I liked the sonic perfomance in general, good enough for me not to miss bringing my big eMeet speaker/microphone. The video is even better and does not have annoyingly permanent branding in the visuals. The various modes work well with the tiltabilty of the camera, enabling effective use of the camera resolution and different patterns of distribution of the participants.

This is an amazing conference room camera, joining good hardware with good software without any requirement to download any software or drivers. It seems to use a single 360 degree panoramic (or hemispherical) camera and use software within the camera to transform the "fisheye" view to several more usable views. Optionally, the camera can be directed to a person and used a regular webcam pointing at a single person. Note that no motor movement is involved with the camera, but you will have to move the camera 90 degrees manually to switch between the multi-person conference mode (camera looking upwards) and the single-person directional mode (camera facing the person). There are no extra software or drivers that need to be loaded. The camera's own software does everything on its own, giving out the desired view format as the output. Not only is this good for security (no external software on your machine), but it also moves the necessary processing power to the device itself. The output images are fairly good, not giving much hint of a hemispherical camera. AI is used to detect faces and their placement, and in turn, assuring the right portions of the hemispherical view is used with the right amount of close-up (or rather, magnification). As people move (sideways, up or down, forward and backward), the output view is arranged to transfer the right portions of the 360 degree view with the right amount of magnification. Various modes and settings can be controlled either by the buttons on the camera or by a remote control (2 x AAA batteries included). Note that this would be an overkill as a regular webcam with all the functions, the price, and the extremely wide viewing angle. In fact, I would not use it as a webcam at home because despite cropping the viewing area ahead, the camera can capture a 360 degree view, meaning that your left and right, as well as the ceiling and your desktop will be all withing the viewing angle of the camera. Although only the forward view is used, I still see that as a privacy risk simply because you can switch the mode by mistake and people around you, text on the monitors next to you, reports on your desktop, all can be streamed accidentally. By the way, there is a camera cover/lid that attaches magnetically to block the view, and the sound output can be muted by the buttons or the remote control. And the camera is powered by the same USB-A cable connection to your computer. Overall, I absolutely love this camera. It seems to be a single lean & clean solution for a conference room. Within a home environment, or even a work environment, you will have to be careful what view the camera captures and streams as there might be a lot of sensitive things within that hemispherical view. For a conference room, after some settings are made, the device will follow people and arrange the views on its own without any need of intervention. Since, software and AI is involved, there might be some flukes, but I have not observed any myself. It is also very nice that no software or driver installations are necessary. The price of $325 CAD at the time of writing might seem high, but if you have a conference room, I think that price would be worth adding this camera to your conference room gadgets. I definitely recommend.

Die Kamera ist flexibel für größere Besprechungen, aber auch auch für Einzelpersonen geeignet, das AI Tracking funktioniert gut. Dazu im Vergleich mit anderen Systemen ein sehr fairer Preis.
