Arnold Schwarzenegger is special agent Harry Tasker, a top spy in the ultra-secret Omega Sector who also dances a mean tango- although to his neglected wife, Helen, (Jamie Lee Curtis) he's just a dull computer salesman. But while Harry's been busy fighting terrorists, Helen's been gathering secrets of her own. And when their two secret lives unexpectedly collide, Harry and Helen find themselves in Review: Great twist on classic action-spy films with a stronger comedic take - My wife and I watched True Lies for the first time after her first trip to The Keys. I wanted her to experience the beauty and uniqueness of the area so she would (I already knew, but it would be my first time as well) be able to recognize and connect with a movie we knew spent some time down there. We instantly loved the film. And that connection to The Keys only made it more fun. Arnold and Jamie Lee are a great pair. By no means do all (and perhaps even a majority of) movie and TV couples have the right chemistry. These two do in spades. Both have the skills and presence to own a film all on their own, so the control, respect, and natural abilities of these actors means their couple blend beautifully, neither owning the film nor taking over the story. The story is a great take on the typical Bourne, Tom Cruise, 007 genre. Bad guys chasing good guys for greed and power. Some great locations, an excellent second layer in casting come together to make for a good film. Now add in the humor of this great script, and an interesting premise - wife doesn't know husband is spy, wife finds out, wife and husband end up working together to save the day and their daughter - and you've got a great action film blended into a fun comedy. Overall it's a fun date night movie, guy's night, girl's night, even for the (a bit older) kids, and in my book, it's a great film. Review: One of my Top 5 movies of all time - It's a little (maybe a lot) misogynistic, but some of that is a sign of the times when it was made. Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Tom Arnold all offered impeccable physical and verbal humor. The special effects made it surprising that it was released in the last millennium (in1994). Love this one!

Great twist on classic action-spy films with a stronger comedic take
My wife and I watched True Lies for the first time after her first trip to The Keys. The Ultimate 90s Action-Comedy Blend!
If you are looking for the absolute peak of 90s blockbuster cinema, True Lies is it. Directed by James Cameron, this film manages to be a high-stakes spy thriller, a hilarious comedy, and a surprisingly touching story about a marriage in crisis all at once. Why it’s a must-watch: The Perfect Action Duo: Arnold Schwarzenegger is at his most versatile here, perfectly balancing his "unstoppable agent" persona with a bumbling, relatable husband. Jamie Lee Curtis is equally incredible, transforming from a bored housewife to a reluctant, total badass. Legendary Set Pieces: From the horse chase through a hotel to the finale involving a Harrier jump jet and a skyscraper, the stunts are inventive and audacious. Stealing the Scene: Tom Arnold and Bill Paxton provide some of the best comedic moments in action history. Paxton’s "sleazy used-car salesman" is a hilarious standout. Big Screen Spectacle: This movie doesn't hold back on explosions or scale. It’s "popcorn cinema" executed at the highest possible level. A quick note for physical media collectors: While the movie itself is a 10/10, be aware that the recent 4K UHD transfer has been controversial among fans due to heavy AI-upscaling and "smoothing" that can make faces look a bit waxy. However, the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is absolutely fantastic and brings new life to the action. Overall: Whether you’re a fan of Arnie, Cameron, or just great action movies, this is a cornerstone of the genre that remains incredibly rewatchable.

Forget the hate! This 4k is pretty good.
I'm not a complete videophile, but I'm not a novice either. Like everyone else, I've been waiting for this (and The Abyss) to get a new release on a format better than DVD, so when I saw this for order I did so without hesitation. While waiting for this to deliver I saw the backlash against this release due to "excessive" digital scrubbing making people look waxy and removing grain. While there was digital scrubbing used, I barely noticed. The picture is fine and definitely an improvement over the DVD. It's not the best looking 4k, but it's no Terminator 2 4k. I've seen reviews give the image a 3.5/5 which I think is fair. The HDR is nice, adds a little flesh tone to people in the night scenes helping to breakup all that blue. The Atmos sound has gotten top marks online, but I cannot confirm that, but True Lies always had a good soundmix. I saw online that this films negative was in real bad shape and for certain scenes digital scrubbing was required. Other digital changes due to an issue with the type of lens used. For the Aliens bl-ray dis Cameron said he used some new filmstock that made the image too grainy hence Aliens' digital scrubbing. I'm just saying something like this has happened before. In the end I have this disc to be good overall where only the most die hard videophile could have any kind of issue with.
