Davis Instruments Shockles DockShockle Small Boat Black, 16-Inch, (2415)

This is a must have for boats up to 30-34 feet. I use this on my anchor chain in, up to, 10 feet of water on the Chesapeake. Snubbing the anchor takes the stress off the windlass on my 34' Back Cove. Works very well. Easy to deploy once you get a procedure down. But, keep your hands OUT of the windlass. I don't use this for mooring lines since I have a lift, so I don't know. I do like the quick ties for tying off to line on a deeper anchorage. They work!

The ties between the product and dock line slips. I tie it exactly as instructed but the ties slipped and won’t hold under continued strain on the line. Probably works well with a chain anchor where you have a fixed attachment to the loops of the chain.Seems well constructed otherwise so I’m going to try tying loops in my dock line to give the same fixed attachment point as a chain would do.

I have used on a mooring line for two months and it is working just fine. Seems to be robust so far. The grabber line is holding up.

My marina has a lot of wave action and the dockmaster requires snubbers on the bow and stern lines. These Shockles do a great job. They are more durable than conventional rubber snubbers. They also are much easier to install, remove, and/or adjust.

Went through multiple snubbers in less than a year. Installed these in prep for hurricane Florence. Survived brutal waves and wind. Just buy these.

Purchased these last year and still working well.

Does what it is supposed to do. Well worth the money.

I like this snubber, I actually use it on the anchor line to reduce stress on the deck hardware. It comes with a pair of line grabbers, so it is ready to go. It is easy to use and the wife is the one who usually sets it up. I can sit on the bow and watch it working.
