Ann Voskamp has one of the more unique writing styles. Thought provoking and often with bold self disclosures that makes it easier to get more honest. It works like this: When someone is brave enough to share sensitive and hurtful experience, it is as if we are given permission to get more candid ourselves. That is a common representation in all of her writings.

If I could give this book a thousand stars, I absolutely would! Next to the Bible, it has changed my life more than any book I've ever read. I have known suffering few have seen. I never understood why. To that query, there is no complete answer this side of heaven. But Ann Voskamp gives an unparalleled insight into the real Truth of suffering. Jesus' ultimate love was poured out in His ultimate suffering - on the cross. In His life Jesus said, "Blessed are you who weep and mourn, for you will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4) Ann Voskamp goes a bit further when she says, "The scarred Savior will know you are His by your own scars...And when His scars touch your own, you will be full healed." (Paraphrased.) The point is: suffering is NOT punishment. Nor is it some sort of bad cosmic karma. It is the path that many of us have to take to be broken and poured out for Jesus. For only through a broken heart, surrendered to Him, can his ultimate love be poured out to the world. Thank you Ann Voskamp, for transforming my thinking and changing my life through your writing. Just when I think she has given me the ultimate Truth, she tops herself!

Wow! A friend gave this to me. I have not read one day that I have not cried. As I read, I thought of others that are struggling with brokenness and purchased 4 of these to give away. The author gives some deep thoughts and insight into our brokenness and how to live with joy, love, and be a giver in the midst of our hurt. Highly recommend if you have ever been deeply hurt and the pain still floods your heart at times.

Ann Voskamp is a gifted writer. As stated on the back cover, The Way of Abundance draws "from her exquisite, soul-searching online journal and the transformational insights of her New York Times bestseller The Broken Way . . ." I like this structure for the book and the overall design. I appreciate work online, and also a printed book. Thank you.

I finished Ann's book at breakfast this morning and was sad to reach the end of my journey. Ann's stories expand on the theme of being broken and given that she explored in The Broken Way. I love the questions at the end of very devotion as they gave me something to think about during the day. Devotion #48 Patient Brokenness question "How can you choose to suffer for someone today-to extend the gift of patience and forgive with abundant grace, as He has forgiven you." is one that I come back to every day. I use it as a reminder to be patient and extend lots of grace to the people at work.We need more people extended patience and forgiveness is this deeply broken world. So "Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 NASB (pg 194).Thank you, Ann, for this wonderful devotional.I received a free copy of the some of the devotionals as a member of Ann's book launch team and then got to purchase a copy at a reduced price.

I was privileged to receive an ARC. As is her way, Ann drew me in immediately! “Nothing is more necessary than finding God and falling in love and deeper into Him. Love decided. ... What you are in love with decides what you get out of bed for.” Ann wrote these words on Page 18 and they arrested me! What [WHO] am I in love with? What [WHO] is my motivation for getting out of bed every morning? (Emphasis mine.)I love how Ann Voskamp’s writes. Her questions always provoke me into deeper searching within to prove Who or what I’m clinging to without.I love that when Ann writes, it’s from a life that’s she lives; a life wholly devoted to Father God.

THE WAY OF ABUNDANCE is a transparent, genuine & gentle invitation from Anne Voskamp. Her poetic prose woos, but these honest words shine forth as a clear call to action for all those wanting more. These entries are the perfect size for a daily devotion, and each end with two reflection questions that help apply the truths of the chapter. I’ve been a long-time fan of the author, but this book has spoken to my heart in new, practical, & compelling ways, quickly becoming a favorite.

She brings her life into her writing, with a very unique style.

She writes in a poetic manner. Which makes you think about what you’re reading. I love how she deals with the subject of pain and suffering. Putting it in a positive perspective. Reading it lifts my heart and spirit!

Amazingly well written book, detailing where anyone may be at at any point in their life... sometimes too close to the bone to process without time between the chapters. Honest - sometimes brutally so - account of the battle we face to stop fighting, to accept what we are and to find real love in God.
