Doesn't get much easier..
This is a long, drawn out, story, but has a happy ending. No, not the fun kind. I have a long running problem with a Hot Water Recirc Pump. The Recirc Pump insures I have hot water at every outlet in the house pretty near instantaneously. But for numerous reasons, it's recommended NOT to leave the pump on continuously. With that in mind, I have tried all kinds of fancy timers with only mixed results. The reality is the family keeps odd hours so the timers were not working out for us. We needed a convieanat way to turn on/off the pump when needed without running into the garage. With that in mind, I started shopping for remote control devices, but was worried because the pump is attached to the hot water heater in the garage. Now it's a very large house and the Master Bath is located up-stairs and the far back of the house; total other side than the garage. I researched and most "Out Door" timers (needed a water resistant unit) advertise for "Line of Site" and less than a 100 feet.. My application is on a whole different floor in the structure and about 150 feet from the plug. In my research, most folks writing the reviews stressed line of sight functionality and at distances much less than my need.In my research, I found the Etekcity. The product description gave the longer range than most of the others on the market, was rated for out door use and the reviews were good, so I decided to give it a try. I should point out I purchased the one Plug and a separate remote for the same unit. Upon receipt of the unit, it appeared to be of solid construction and I was impressed with how easy it was to set up and program. As was programming the secondary remote. Then onto the test and I did kind of get carried away with the testing. I went everywhere in and out of the house, upstairs, downstairs, the front balcony (above the garage), rear balcony; far corner is about 165 feet from the unit, upstairs and on the other side of the house. Both remotes functioned flawlessly. At this point, we are confident when we hit "On" on the remote, that the pump will come on ( easy to verify cuz there's hot water at the faucets). However, when we hit the "Off" button, we are still running to the garage to confirm it's actually turned off the pump. I'm sure as our confidence builds, those "tests" will decrease... So far, it's working flawlessly and we are very happy with this product. dz

Functions exactly as I hoped
I plugged this in outside for my deck lights. I used to have to go outside to plug them in every time I wanted to use them but with this outlet that is no longer necessary. The remote control works through the walls! I can stand in my living room and just point the remote in the direction of the deck and push the button. It has been outside for almost a year and I have had no problems with it. I am very happy with this purchase.

Good value, works great
I love this double receptacle. I use it for two strings of outdoor lights (pictured). It is very heavy duty and durable. I’ve gotten it wet while watering my potted plants. No problem there. I have a screened porch between the patio and my living room. The remote works from the middle of my living room even having to pass through the porch to get to the receptacle. Also easy to operate. As the product picture shows, there is a short cord attached to the receptacle with a plug on the other end. Plugs in easily and stays put. Very good purchase.

Stopped working, but fixed it!
At first the outlet worked great where it was set up outside and I was able to use the remote from inside the house and through a wall. Then the battery died and we replaced it (odd little sized battery) and it didn’t work anymore. The little red light on the remote lit up, and the lights turned on if we manually held down the button on the outlet, but the remote could not control the actual outlet. The way to fix it is to hold down the power button on the outlet, then push the On button you want on the remote, hold for a few seconds, then release both. It should now work. We’ve done this twice now (with two different outlets like this which had dead batteries) and it worked both times. If your outlet and remote pairing stopped working, then I hope this works for you too!

Works great, held up in severe storms and tons of rain
Used this as a switch for some edison bulb string lights around the fence line of the yard. The remote is easy to setup, and the actual switching unit works as it should. The day after I installed this switch and 6 LED string lights, we had 7 inches of rain with bad storms and major flooding, and this switch held up with no problems.I have not tested the range on the remote, but we typically use it from inside about 25 feet away from the outlet and have never had any issues. Product so far (about a month) works as it should with no problems and seems very water resistant.

Works GREAT!!!
I needed an easy way to turn on an exterior light on a shed that is around 150 feet away from our house without spending a fortune. The shed already had 110 volt power so I plugged this remote outlet into a wired outlet and plugged the exterior light into this remote outlet by wiring the exterior light fixture with a cord and a plug.We can turn on and off the light remotely from our house using the control or turn it on or off by hitting the button on the remote outlet when we are by the shed. It has been very reliable!!
