NEW! CARBURETOR FOR YAMAHA MOTO 4 225 YFM225 YFM MOTO-4 CARB CARBY 1986 1987 1988

I installed this on my 1986 Yamaha YFM200 Moto4. Everything on the outside appears identical to the original, and it installed perfectly, well, almost perfectly. There was a minor difference on the inlet tube for the fuel supply, the fuel tube is smaller than the original. The original carb fuel tube was curved and about 2 inches long. This one stubs straight out - so I had to find a fuel hose with an inside diameter that was something smaller, yet still would stretch over the tube on the the fuel petcock. I'm sure there are adapters out there, but it worked. After years of problems with my old original carburetor, this new carb started right up. The only adjustment I had to make was with the idle. It runs beautifully, great acceleration under load, and a perfect idle. I'm thrilled to have this bike running like new again, especially with how difficult it is to find parts. Hopefully it lasts me for another 30 years.

Easy install and engine now runs fine

worked great...for two weeks now leaks gas from float bowl gasket when I got that fixed it started leaking from the over flow so i cleaned everything which nothing was dirty! reinstalled and still leaks I'm going to fix the original and put it back on very disappointed

I have a 1986 Yamaha Moto 4 225cc. The old carb was leaking gas, so I thought "let me replace it with a newer, better carb." The Amazon description says this will work for my 4 wheeler. In a sense, it does work, when idling. But, at any rpm while driving, it bogs down. I've adjusted the air/fuel intakes, adjusted the needle settings, adjusted everything. It still doesn't function the same as the old carb. I was so excited about the new carburetor that I didn't keep up with all the parts from the old. Now, I can't reinstall the old and I'm stuck with the new. I think I'm just stuck. It's sad since this 4 wheeler has been running like a champion since 1986. Not any more.

It works. Put it on an 86 moto4 that had been sitting for a decade. Fire right up and runs. Seems to stutter a bit at certain rpms. Contacted seller and they said adjust fuel/air ratio. I don't see anything to adjust but the idle. They told me again to adjust fuel/air and I asked where to do this, haven't heard back. They stated all jetting is done in house and I can't mess with that.Overall it works, but not perfect. I have put these on two other atvs and they were awesome, but this one seems just a little off. Oh well, I would buy again based on my 66% success rate so far :)
