Q: How often do you replace the filter?

The filter is 18 dollars, or 2 for 24 on Amazon. The UV light can be checked by having the magnets connect (with no filter in) so you can see - but don't look directly at it. You will see light through the cracks that way...or with filter in and dark room will see slight light through filter.

Q: Is the UV bulb replaceable?

I would think so but you can go to their website and hit the contact button to ask. They are very responsive. Website is pureenrichment.com. The bulb has a 20,000 hour life so I would guess they last at least 5 years with normal usage. I wash the external large particle filter once per month and replace the whole filter unit every 6 months. I love these purifiers. We have 3 of them and I'm thinking of buying 2 more for the office.

Q: Can this unit run continuously? I don't want it to turn off. Also, where can I get new filters?

Q: Good for reducung second hand smoke?

NO! Can not eliminate any cigarettes smoke from my next door neighbor!
