This is my 3rd type of unit like this, I have a HopeGarden and some other noname brand.Day 1 - I was worried about the squared, versus the round net pots and plugs, that almost every other manufacturer uses. My concern comes from being able to get parts, which you need, when you replant. The net pots are easy to reuse, but the plugs I usually throw out when I harvest the plant.GOOD NEWS: If you want to use the round net pots, the standard type, they fit. The round seed plugs also fit in the square net pots, but you can always use square rock wool plugs if you prefer. So the main fear I had when I bought this is really not an issue.The light was worry #2 from reading the reviews. Mine was not backwards and worked first try. However, it was a little more difficult to attach the light to the pole than I would have expected. It is easy to attach, but to push it all the way down to make the connection for the light to work takes a little more pressure than I was comfortable using. I would highly suggest you attach the light to the pole BEFORE attaching the pole to the base unit, this helps alot. My light works, Im happy.So for around $30 you get a 12 site, 5 liter grow unit. Not a bad price.Now - another concern: The clear bottom may allow for algae to grow, which means changing the water more frequently versus a unit with a dark bottom. Yes, I can take dark paper for a target or other cloth like substance and cover the bottom, which I will if algae becomes a problem. The neat thing is you get to see the roots, but if your plants suffer, then it makes the clear bottom not worth it.I will try and report back after my first harvest with pictures, I am going Butter crunch or romaine lettuce.David H.

The light was manufactured backwards, so if you put the light in it only turns on facing off of the plant tray defeating the sole purpose of the product.The Light sadly doesn't work properly either, the white light spectrum light doesn't turn on so you have half of what is needed for each type of plant.You get a Bright blue or a dim red without the white bulbs working.The buttons also don't respond correctly.The quality of the grower is much lower than the cheaper ones you find for $29.99, its frail and not pleasant to look at like the pictures.This is why you should sadly trust lower ratings most of the time.I returned the item, I suggest against this grower and going for a cheaper one or making your own.

It worked wonderful for six months no longer works Lights went out .I loved it so sad not worth the money.

So far so good, everything went together well, I had to return a different model that did not work. It was from a different manufacturer(Mufga) and a different design. The connections of the light to the pole were horribly made and were not durable, This west tune model I’m reviewing now, has very good electrical and mechanical connections and is very sturdy.

My light or the pole was built backwards. I just need the replacement to them and can't find a way to contact seller.

Works as it is supposed to. Easy to set up.

I actually really like this. After just a couple of weeks I have tomato and pepper plants. Love that I can see and monitor roots. My complaint is the pod openings are not standard size. They are a square shape and I have not been able to find any type of replacement or accessory that fits these openings. Works so much better than the Aerogarden’s I have had but again, very disappointing that I can’t find any accessories that fit!
