Playmobil 5142 Princess Fantasy Castle

This castle is stunning and was my little girls dream, she plays with it everyday but it is pricey.I was originally in two minds as to whether to purchase this item due to its cost and the fact that it comes with no accessories and is totally unfurnished. However when it was reduced just before Christmas I decided to make it my daughters main present and members of the family offered to buy some of the furniture too.It arrived promptly and was really well packaged. The large box contained lots of small boxes and bags but the instructions were easy to follow and everything was well labelled. It took me over 4 hours to put this together and the finished castle looked stunning. Unlike other children's toys the many stickers actually stayed on but I ended up having to glue parts of the castle together because it fell apart every-time I moved it. Once glued it has stayed together despite being played with frequently. I was surprised at how big it was but there was plenty of room for play and has some lovely little features, my favourite being the little secret compartment to keep your jewellery in and the matching tiara to wear while your playing. Unfortunately the little plastic flowers on the bushes have not stood the test of time and have slowly fallen off and ended up in the Hoover. It doesn't take away from the fact that it really is a lovely piece of furniture for any princess bedroom, I just wish that some of the furniture had come as part of the package too.

This is such an amazing product - we bought it for my 6yr old daughter for her birthday and she loves it and plays with it every single day. A word of warning though you have to assemble literally every single piece of this and it took my husband over 2 hours so leave yourself plenty of time and don't give it to your child unassembled as the disappointment they would feel in having to wait for it to be put together would be awful. You also need to plan where you will keep this as it's large and quite an awkward shape to accommodate. It resides on our dining table and has to be moved if we need to use all the table! It is such good quality and the detail is amazing. The room kits were then bought for her by friends and family over a period of time as gifts and she has really enjoyed putting all the rooms together gradually. My 3yr old son also has the Knight's castle and they play together with all the bits and pieces literally every day in some way - it feeds their imagination for hours and means they can play together which is great. Playmobil is such good quality and my mum still has some of the original pieces from my childhood which are now many many years old - they still are in perfect condition and they are the first things my kids go for when playing at her house.This is an expensive item but in my opinion well worth it and they enjoyment my kids and their friends get from it is neverending. Shop around for the best deal though as the price really varies.

My 6 year old daughter loved getting this for Christmas and still loves it. Only thing is, it took 3 of us about 3 or 4 hours to put it together. It seemed like like a lot longer tho. The turrets don't stay on which is annoying and the staircase comes apart easily. Overall, very good. I've always loved Playmobile and my kids do to. We have lots of little containers for all the little bits to be kept in for each set they get. They also love the advent calendars at Christmas, again, we put all the bits into a container to keep them safe.

Where to start?! It took a good 4 hours to assemble (on Christmas Day - so eggnog and other presents must be taken into consideration), but was more than worth it. It's huge, has lots of rooms, turrets, gates, winding staircase, balcony, chandeliers, flags, a tower, a ballroom, windows that open and more....It seems to appeal to most children (girls and boys) as it's a blank canvas that they can use for most of their playmobil (or similarly sized) toys. My 3 year old son plays with it with my 6 year daughter (whose present it was) and there are regular Imaginext dragon attacks in amongst the fairy weddings etc. It's an attractive toy that will last well, and if it's anything like the playmobil I had as a child, will be used by my children's children too. A good purchase!

My 4 year old daughter loves this and my 8 year old son plays with it too, Really good once built, you need lots of patience as it takes a good 4 hours to build! I was surprised with how little furniture it came with, you need to buy all the furniture separately otherwise there is not a lot to play with and the castle looks empty. You need the bathroom, the dressing room, the dining room and the baby room. But overall a really good buy!

It's a Xmas present so my 4 year old has not seen it yet and there's 6 weeks to go so hopefully will get it done!!! There are hundreds of bits to put together. Given my experience last xmas putting toys together on xmas day I think I would def recommend putting together before giving to the child as there could be some very frustrated kids asking every 2 seconds "is it done yet" and brain addled parents getting stressed. Will update and let you know how I get on with construction

The Playmobil Princess Fantasy Castle comes in a big box and has lots of bags full of pieces of various sizes. Be warned that this does take quite a long time to put together in order to assemble the Castle. However, once it's done, it is a lovely toy. My two daughters (ages 6 and 5) play for hours with it and create a wealth of stories about it and its inhabitants. Substantial in size once built, so not too easy to hide away at the end of the day, but it looks so lovely that it is nice to keep out.

Excellent toy - perhaps slightly expensive for the price but this is mainly because it was for my 5 years olds so I had to assemble, not them - word of advice - do not attempt this on Christmas Day because probably takes an hour to build
