M14 x 1.5 threaded plug with crush washer. This is a replacement engine oil sump plug. It is made from aluminium with a Red Anodized finish. A magnetic sump plug will attract any metal particles which come away from the engine during its lifetime. Without a magnetic plug these bits of metal will stay in the oil and will cause the oil pump to wear more quickly and can eventually block the pick-up to the oil pump causing premature engine failure. Please note that the head on the replacement plug might be a different size or design to the head on the original, this will not have an effect on the ability of the new plug to do its job. Torque setting for tightening if required is 8-10Nm.
