This is the second TROND desk lamp that I have purchased, and it is an exceptional light for reading, working on the computer etc. The last one I purchased is still working, but some of the different modes began to stop working after working perfectly for five years. I replaced the lamp because it is a great product that has a long lifespan. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a dimmable lamp that is easy on the eyes. It is well worth the extra money compared to similar products. There is very little assembly and the light is very stable.

Love this light. I leave it on all the time on lowest level in a room that I seldom use but when I do wander at night I can see. I'm an old person. It would be good for reading as well... nice design and functional.

I bought this lamp to provide light for reading in bed. I have had several other goose neck lamps, but this lamp is much better made. It is very stable and does not fall over as my last lamp did whenever I adjusted it. Also, the fact that there are seven light levels that adjust with just a swipe of the finger makes it so easy to use. I highly recommend this lamp. P.S. No assembly required is a plus.

UPDATE: KNOCKING ONE STAR OFF MY 5-STAR REVIEW. Still a fabulous little lamp, but after only a few days' use in one spot (no moving around), the DC power adapter seems to have shorted out. I happened to have another one lying around, so substituting was easier than the hassle of returning the whole lamp. If this should happen to you, you may find that ordering a 12-volt, 1-amp, 2.1mm DC Power Adapter for a few bucks is a better choice for you, too. Here's one example: 12V DC Power Adapter Supply 2.1mm 1A, CCTV ORIGINAL REVIEW, ALL STILL VALID: It just arrived so I can only talk about its style and utility, not its longevity, but this is a really nice lamp! I was after an unobtrusive black task/table lamp to brighten a dark corner and provide some extra task lighting in a small space, and this one is excellent. The rubberized finish is matte and velvelty, and doesn't show fingerprints (unless you've been eating bacon. Ask me how I know). The LEDs are covered by a diffuser, so all you see is a bright rectangle, not rows of little square LEDs. I love the smooth, featureless surface. The dimmer control and on-off are invisible--just slide your finger along the groove on the stand. Faint red lights indicate which dimmer level you're on, and there's one always on to show you where the on switch is. But it's not one of those annoying bright LEDs that seem to make our living rooms into Christmas trees at night--just a very faint dot. Speaking of the dimmer, it ranges from a low, moody glow to a seriously bright task-light, with multiple steps in between. The light itself is a fairly cool, daylight white, great for color perception. The transformer isn't super-huge--it needs an end outlet on my multi-outlet surge protector, but it only takes up one spot. The base is a bit lightweight, but then so is the whole lamp, so it's reasonably stable. You might have to hold it down with one hand while adjusting the neck upward. The neck adjusts easily and stays where you put it. I guess if I have one quibble, it's that the TROND logo is printed in white on the top surface of the base, detracting a little from the all-black look, but it certainly doesn't affect the function, quality, or overall sleek style.

I absolutely love this lamp! Not only does it look great - but it is sturdy, functional and the touch light system works beautifully. There are several light modes and the flexible gooseneck makes it easy to shine light on whatever you're working on. I would recommend this lamp to anyone.

Really like this one can adjust the brightness, easy-to-use on and off button, like the fact that you can adjust the light part also, seems to be well made

Fantastic light with multiple uses. The flexible neck holds the light securely, yet easily bends to allow focused light just where wanted. I use it for crafting jewelry (at the bright setting), and as a simple light in a dark spot (by dimming it). It's lightweight, perfectly balanced and the small base lets it fit about anywhere. Adjustable tones of light could provide softer reader light, and switch easily to a bright work light. LED's mean long lasting brilliance with low power needs. This is my third Trond light: I bought one, my husband loved it so got himself one, and my grandson (9 yr old) loved it too so got him one for his desk. Comes ready to go, no assembly. Sturdy, slim lines, fits any decor.

Was looking for a lamp that was not intrusive but provides good lighting and this works perfectly for me! Love it!
