I bought this because I want to hang my flag horizontally. It did that perfectly. The unit is a bit cumbersome when adjusting the level via the sprocket , as it pretty much almost has to be at max tension and the two pieces almost come apart. Well, you'll get the hang of it. The screw you tighten with a knob to ratchet down the tension to hold the pole in pace is lacking. It tightens okay but causes the pole to flex downward (if you're hanging horizontally). We only used two (of the 3) pole pieces to hang a 28 x 40 flag and it was too long and still weighed the pole at an undesirable angle. Going to cut a few inches off the pole and see if we can shim around the screw so it hangs right. Man, finding a metal flag holder that doesn't use a 6 ft pole is a trick. This will work for us, hope it helps you.

Exactly what we needed for our carport to hang our flag. It has multiple positions for great adjustment to get just the right angle.

I like the ability to set the angle of the flag pole.

Unfortunately I found my flag laying on the ground in mud after the rain. We didn’t have hurricane or tornado, just a normal thunderstorm, and the holder broke in two pieces! Very disappointed. Will invest money into better / sturdier holder.

I don't have much confidence that this will last long.

I used these flag brackets to make outriggers for my kayak. They work perfectly. The only issue I had was that the set screw on one of them was stripped out. Fortunately it didn't matter because the PVC pipe I used is a very snug fit. I like that they have very aggressive teeth so that they will not move once I set the position I want and they are made out of metal and not plastic.
