Great start sad ending....
This was going to be my gateway into setting up a smart home on a budget. Initially when I received the plugs setup was a breeze, began using with alexa. Gained big points with the wife being able to control lights without here moving from the couch. Less than 3 1/2 months later they refuse to stay connected, I have to reset every two hours or less which is a great pain. I have since just disconnected them and put them in a box. Wished they worked longer and more consistently.UPDATE........After the company read my review they reached out and provided me with a software update for the plugs. After the update, they work flawlessly. Now we come into the house and ask "Alexa" to turn on the lights and they turn as advertised. Thank you TanTan for your great customer service. Rerating to 5 stars!!

2.4 GHz is the key
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My first Alexa enabled smart home device is woking like a charm. I bought two smart plug, one for Christmas tree light and one for main living room light. I agree to some of the review comments that its not that straight forward to set it up, but let me write it down here on how I did so that it might help someone. This is for iPhone users.Step 1:Install TuyaSmart app. RegisterStep 2In Alexa App, go to Skills, type Smart Life, Enable Skill, Use the user name / password you used to register in TuyaSmart AppStep 3I was using a NetGear router. It was both 2.4 GHz as well as 5 GHz. (how you can find, type 192.168.1.1 for netgear, you can get these for Linksys etc from google). Type 192.168.1.1 and then enable only the 2.4 GHz ( You can change it to original once set up is done)Step 4If you do the Step 3 properly, your connection from App to Smart Plug would say its enabled. Otherwise, it will say failed and asked for retry. What I did ( not sure its needed or not) is, after step 3, I unplugged the power of the router, waited 10 seconds and reconnected.Step 5Ask alexa to search for device or go to alexa and search for devices. Once found, change the title so that you can add something like "christmas light".Happy Smart Homing...

Blown away, for the price and quality!
I bought three, then I bought another 4! These plugs are amazing and with the “smart life” app, provide seamless control of my lights. Even more mind blowing, my girlfriend flew from New York to Oklahoma and can control the lights in the bedroom on the app from over a 1,000 miles away. If that doesn’t speak for the product I don’t know what else will. Buy the plug, turn off your crockpot from work, worry less, and improve your existence.

Very easy to use
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I liked the ease of pairing the plug to my phone. I can turn the light off with my phone after I leave the room. I love the possibilities these offer. I will highly recommend these to my friends!

Works perfectly with Google Home (EDIT: but NOT with a single SSID/wifi name)
I had bought some C by GE smart bulbs--2-packs for $25--to use with our Google Home setup, and was about to buy a few more when it hit me: what am I doing? For less money, I can get the same on/off function for table lamps with a smart plug. Moreover, with table lamps that are always used in tandem, I can just plug them both into the same smart plug. These TanTan smart plugs fit the bill in spades. The set up was easy. I downloaded the Smart Life app and connected each plug to wifi one by one, virtually instantly and without problem. After naming the plugs, I linked the Smart Life service in the Google Home app, and there was each plug. The plugs have worked flawlessly in the month since I purchased them. I have bought a half-dozen more, and they have performed flawlessly as well. I even bought one into which I plugged a small "dumb" amp with a Chromecast Audio attached, which connects to speakers on our patio. Now I can play music on the patio simply by telling Google Home to turn the patio amp on, and to play X on the patio speakers.I had some hesitation that these were perhaps too cheap, and that if I were going to get smart plugs, I should purchase the TP Link ones for almost twice the price. But as I've said, I've had no problems at all. Not a single disconnect ever from wifi. I'd highly recommend these.SEPT. 2020 UPDATE: These have continued to function superbly for over a year and a half now. Set them and forget them, just the way I like it. I wish I could say the same about some of the smart bulbs I have.

Easy to install, work flawlessly
These little mini sockets are awesome!!! I tried two other brands of smart sockets but these are by far the best I’ve tried. All I did is download the app, open it, plug the socket in, waited a few seconds for the little blue light to flash...then the app asks me to accept and then I can change the name of the socket, then click, bam, boom! Done! They can be up and running in literally seconds. They are amazing. So far they work flawlessly.

So far, so good. A+ for the cost
Well, so far they work excellent. I'm a tech savvy dude and have set up a variety of wifi plugs w/ Alexa and Google Home and these were the easiest and so far the best setup. Couple that in with the price and it's hard to beat them. Honestly, even if one of them took a dump on you a few months down the road, they're still many times cheaper than other brands and worth the purchase.Good- Simple setup. Plug in, go to your app (I have these on a Google Home setup) and add, done deal. The specific plug app can give you granular controls and scheduling and they easily mesh into the Google routines and setup. A+ compared to other plug brands for setup.- Small and nice looking. They're not a fugly, large rectangle on your outlet, they're nice and round... very clean looking.- Cost. Most other brands offer 1 plug for $30, you get 4 for $35 w/ this brand. No brainer as they work the exact same as the other due in terms of bells and whistles.Bad- None so far but I see the reviews on quality issues. However, if you compare to other brands you see the same stuff w/ disconnections, plugs dying, etc. I haven't encountered any of these over the first several weeks and we use these constantly.Solid purchase and it's a great way to dive into the wifi plug setup without risking much.

Useful gadget
It took some time to connect to it using the android app but maybe I was doing something wrong. It works surprisingly good both on home WiFi and mobile network. I was expecting glitches when on mobile network but I didn't notice any difference.

Complicated to configurate but worth it for now!
After splitting my 2 wifi networks (5G & 2,4G), it was still little bit of a challenge to make them work. With a lot of perseverance and a couple of hours, they did work in the end. I like that I can control them from afar with the app or my Google Home app. Happy with the purchase!
