Work well for staining spar varnish
I tend to be the pour and spread type with stain and varnish and these are pretty good for that. Holds a lot of product with minimal shedding. Spreads evenly and quickly. I use oil based products and wipe the project liberally with mineral spirits before staining and varnish and between coats. Stain and varnish before the mineral spirits evaporate and get a smooth finish with no little air bubbles or brush marks. Using pads with mineral spirits seems to enhance the self leveling characteristics of the varnish.

Thick and sturdy. Worked well for applying sealant to my slate floor tiles. Did not break apart or leave fibers.

Works quite well finishing furniture
Use it primarily with hard wax oils, it makes applying very easy (especially in corners) and doesn’t leave any debris or fibers. They’ve become my go to for finishing commissioned work.
