Expensive, but worth it.
Connects easily and reliably, feels great, definitely a quality item. The triggers are a bit lighter than the original but are very precise, and you also get shoulder buttons in addition to the triggers. This was very nice while playing Playstation games on Bleemcast. The problem is connecting VMUs while using it. The wireless receiver is a dongle that connects one, but only one, and it doesn't work with the 4x cards, so ultimately you have to plug in a regular corded controller just to connect two more memory cards and sort of just tuck it out of the way. That part is less than ideal. I'm still going to give the five stars though, on the basis that there's a very simple workaround, and it won't affect everyone. Would be nice though if they made a receiver that accepted two VMUs, or it just worked with the 4x ones.

Finally, Dreamcast Wireless!
This controller is a great wireless option for the Dreamcast Wireless. When I held the controller it has a great weight to it and sturdy in the hands, feels very well built. Buttons have a nice click, analog sticks feel smooth (Hall effects!) and d-pad feels great. This feels much better than their wired controller. I did have an issue originally trying to charge it, I was told by their support that you have to use the included Retro Fighters USB-C cable. Once I used it, it charges just fine. Also to note it is 100% compatible with original VMU's they are adding firmware support (I am told) for VM2 and 4X Memory and 3rd party memory options. In the meantime I'd recommend using original VMUs, those work fine until a firmware update. Again, a great controller, has nice rumble and the triggers feel great, right amount of sensitivity. If you are a Dreamcast fan, I highly recommend you get this gamepad!

The only downside is that memory card is detached from controller
The only downside is that memory card is in the console's slot and not in the controller...not always fun to stand up and see what it shows. Otherwise - great controller! Stick and buttons work great

An excellent daily driver [Updated] - But does not pair easy, does not work w/ 4x Sega memory card
Update - This is an excellent controller. I harshed on it too soon b/c of the day one pairing issues. Aside from that, this controller is perfect! Got the pairing to work: HOLD the triangle button on the dongle for more than a sec, don't just tap it event though it flashes regardless. Also, does not read 4X memory cards. I guess it only works w/ VMUs, should make that apparent on the package. Previous review... Gave it 2 stars b/c it at least looks nice and packaging was nice too. I followed the firmware instructions to update the pairing issue. Pluggd to Windows 11 PC. Does not find the controller in the device drop-down, does not download the update to the device. I own a RetroFighters GC controller and it's really great but this experience has me frustrated.

A must own for dreamcast enthusiasts.
I have nothing bad to say about this controller. It feels really good in the hand. All of the controls have a good positive feel. I especially enjoyed the click of the buttons. It has a turbo button and two additional bumpers on the top, which is nice. Nothing about the controller feels cheap. It comes with a receiver/vmu port that you plug into the console. I don't mind that the vmu port is attached to the receiver. Some people will wish that it was attached to the controller itself. I understand that some games use the vmu for additional gameplay immersion, but that wasn't something I ever utilized personally. Connectivity was quick and easy and I had no problems. If there is any lag, it is virtually imperceivable. I only bought one, but intend on buying at least one more now.

Defective Analogue Stick, a common issue for Retro Fighters
It's a Retro Fighters gamepad. I've owned several for the N64, and this was my first time with the Dreamcast. My OEM Dreamcast Controller is over 26 years old, so it has some analogue stick problems. I figured even with RF's shoddy joystick history, surely a brand new controller would fair better. Unfortunately, the analogue stick seems to be misconfigured on a hardware level. Holding directly up makes Sonic walk at a 45 degree angle. To walk directly backwards, I have to hold the stick almost all the way to the diagonal-downright. The stick box itself is seemingly skewed at an angle, and moving straight is functionally impossible in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. If your favorite Dreamcast games don't use the analogue stick, maybe this is a convenient gamepad for you. But if you want something that's better than a 26-year-old controller in any degree, I suppose you can wait for 8BitDo to get around to the Dreamcast. Pros: Wireless, (with some syncing issues) Built-in rumble support (with a whole second of delay between the on-screen action and the controller vibrating) Cons: Misaligned stick (which has been the case for all three RF controllers I've purchased) VMU slot isn't on the controller itself, rather a dongle that attaches to the console. Removes a great deal of the Dreamcast's charm, and causes functionality inconveniences with several games. TLDR: You might get a controller that works, but with my third Retro Fighters purchase I am fairly certain they have serious manufacturing defects, and no idea how to make a proper analogue stick. The controller works in the most technical sense, and it's better than a paperweight. But for $5 you could get a greasy old OEM controller from a thrift store and it would probably work better.

Excellent controller and pairs well with the D6
Was initially confused about how the battery LED indicators worked, but realized once the red LED goes steady, it's fully charged. Great controller!!! love this and the D6
