Arag-Alive Substrate, Hawaiian Black, 20 lb.

I like the color and you do not need to rinse it, you use it as it is. It may make the tank a little cloudy the first day but after that it clear us. It is live so if you rinse it you are getting rid of what you paid for. Unlike some sand, this actually went a long way so I did not need so much.

Love the product. I ordered 3 bags but the external company that delivered the product broke one of the bags and out of the two I actually received one of the boxes was massacred. It does have the small brown sand specs mixed in with the black but personally I find it adds a better and more natural look. Good product, like the grain sizes tho I'd opt for the bag being 5 to 10$ cheaper as I found it slightly costly.

Very coarse substrate but exactly what I need to jump start another tank. Have used this in the past and coral colors pop against the black sand. Looks amazing!

It’s black sand not much to say about it . Other than it’s a cool different look would order again if I build another tank
