I hate drilling into walls when you aren't sure what's lurking behind the plaster but this doohicky works like magic. You might have to play with the depth setting for finding studs in walls, but it's proved very accurate so far.

Well made equipment although the battery supplied only lasted 5 minutes! The equipment appears to work very well in locating plaster board batons, but very frustratingly it did have a habit of showing electrical cables where there weren't any. This may have been due to it picking up an electrical reading from moisture in our new plaster board walls, but unfortunately this did create more doubt than reassurance when deciding where to drill. It was useful to a point and I'm so glad we didn't spend vast amounts of money for more expensive, alternative options being advertised for sale. Overall, it's ok. Seems to locate batons and metal very well, but I wasn't convinced about accuracy re. electrical wiring, which may require taking a few readings before attempting drill, (with care, once you are certain there are no wires).

I was detecting power very far away from power. Basically all over the walls.The stud detector is a bit hit and miss. I tested again with walls I had put together so I knew where studs and power were. It's probably ly better with larger studs. The quater inch or half inch setting should in theory detect 18mm planks behind wet wall panels but it was not accurate.

Stud locator works but you need to mark everything in like 2 minutes tops or it dies.

After reading the reviews this seemed like the go to piece of kit but it doesn't work for me! Read and reread the instructions but using on a partition was where I know there is a stud in the middle, it just would not detect it! I can find the stud easily by tapping the wall, but this device just could not find it.Tested several more times with different settings, recalibrating in different areas but no good - asked for a refund.

I could not get consistent accurate results which completely defeats the object.
