Expandable Colander

I was very excited to use this, and things started out well. It expanded perfectly it and the bikes are perfect for draining parts and ground meat, and rinsing pasta, veggies, fruit, etc. It was a little troublesome to clean where the two sides overlap until I noticed the holes for the slider nubs on the side so the two part can come apart for checking. So awesome. But I found myself chasing the strainer while trying to dump a large pot of boiling pasta into it. The force of the water actually pushed the strainer away from me so the pasta started falling into the sink. Annoying. Worse, the curves of the strainer redirect the water up and out, splashed boiling water all over the counter and me! Ow! Dangerous! I tried to pour slower, at a different angle, etc. No good. This thing keeps sliding and spraying water. It's fine if you're just running tap water into, but not for draining stuff. I debated returning it, but as I was taking it apart to clean it, one of the slider nubs snapped off .... And now it's useless. I can't return it because I missed the return window by a few days, but I can write a review to let others know this is great for rinsing but if you want something to drain or strain, this isn't the kitchen tool for that.

Perfect addition as I slowly turn my kitchen pink. This is so much more functional than any colander we have in the house, it’s so much easier to wash fruit in too! It fits across the sink beautifully and is super sturdy.
