Just what I needed to mount just about any fixture onto any existing ceiling or wall box.

This adapter works great if you have a 3" junction box and a 3.5" fixture
I was replacing a ceiling fan and needed an adadpter that would allow me to attach the ceiling fan mount that had holes that were 3.5" apart. The junction box was well anchored and had supported a fan for nearly 20 years -- and the junction box was part of the home built in 1965. While all the wiring was up to code -- the junction box was simply old and small. This adapter did the trick and worked great.
