CYL01 Powerful Compact Cyclonic Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner

Great little budget priced cleaner, I'm using it mainly for cleaning the car but I did test it in the house and it was fine, good suction and a couple of useful tools, only thing I found I didn't like is because it's so light and compact it keeps falling over, no more than slightly irritating though....excellent little vacuum cleaner and definitely recommend.

Photo one - lawnmower style stripes! Photo two - it picks up pet hair but you have to help it a little as it catches on the front brush. I waited a couple of months before reviewing this vacuum as I was half expecting it to lose suction or start making odd noises as many vacuums tend to. For the price in particular this is a fabulous little machine; very light, not at all bulky and with great suction. In fact, the suction is a slight down point because it’s so powerful that even with the floor type changed (the little thing on the suction head) and the pipe vents open it is still quite hard work to push forward. For this reason I draw back on the vacuum instead of trying to push it forward. It’s good enough that you can do a lawnmower-style stripe in your carpet (see photo!) but it’s quite hard work because of the suction and I’m always pretty tired out after only one room and a hall. Fortunately I got this only for one upstairs room (with a litter tray in it so it needs doing frequently - this vacuum handles it) as lugging Henry up and down the stairs is such a pain. For this sort of job I’d recommend this machine. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone frail, however, since it’s quite a workout to operate. Having said that, someone with hard flooring rather than carpet wouldn’t have this issue. I would say that if you need a hoover for a three bedroom carpeted house, this isn’t it - it’s dinky and it’s quite hard work on carpet. If you’re quite athletic with a one-bed though then this is fabulous. It also has a very useful slide-out pipe lengthener thing (technical term) which makes it less back breaking, but I think anyone taller than about 5ft 6in would still have to do a bit of stooping to use it. I would not recommend this machine for an elderly person or anyone with mobility issues looking for a lighter machine. Although it’s really great for the money and is teeny, it’s a workout. I do highly recommend it as a second vacuum though. (For people who are ideally around 5ft 4in and quite fit with no back problems.) In summary, small and powerful but also oddly clunky to use!

A very compact vacuum cleaner with more than enough power for most jobs. No need to replace dust bags. Clean to use and empty. Excellent quality product for the price.

Works fine for the the price of the hoover

I have a habit of buying cheap vacuum's so i always set my expectations accordingly. They usually start off with decent suction and no matter how well you maintain them and clean them they lose their original suction very quickly and then soon after almost completely. So i was very disappointed with this hoover. It has very poor suction out of the box. It struggles to pick up anything other than light dust and debris. I found it laughable that like most vacuum's it has a slider on the flex to reduce the suction. LOL! Trust me it's not needed on this model. It has a deceptively small dust collector although this is not necessarily a problem as i would imagine it would take a very long time for it to actually collect anything of substance. Its very easy to tip over and if it so much as brushes up against objects/furniture it rolls over. I bought this to replace my old cheap vacuum that had reached an unacceptable suction level and in all honesty i can barely tell the difference between that and this new unit. At least my old vacuum had the excuse of being 3/4 years old. Making matters worse is the fact that this unit is around 20% more expensive than my old model. I would imagine by the time April 2022 comes around (i bought this unit 17/11/21) i will have skipped it and bought another vacuum. Like some other reviewers, i am at a loss as to how some people have given this 5 stars. People really should be a little more demanding before dishing out top marks. 5 stars suggests a product that is the very best or one of the very best in its category at that price point and represents great value for money - there is no way in my opinion that this comes anywhere near to being able to make that claim. It misleads potential buyers (me!). I reckon i could almost match this unit using a straw and taking deep breaths. Would have given it no stars if it was an option as it is barely fit for purpose. Avoid.

The price is good, the vacuuum cleaner's suction is very good, but be aware it's quite small and will turn over as you pull it around. Moreover, the hose is attached to the receptacle for dust, meaning you have to disconnect the the hose each time you want to empty the container ( i.e. every time you hoover because the container is small!). That IS inconvenient. It is a good hover for staircases and such like as it is small, light and powerful enough, but I would not recommend it as main vacuuum cleaner for the house.

Purchased this vacuum for work and it’s brilliant. It’s very lightweight and easy to use and has good suction. I have read a few reviews on here complaining about the suction but in my opinion / experience, it’s to do with the cleaning and maintenance. I lost a lot of suction after emptying it for the first time but after cleaning the motor filter out with soap and water it was back to normal.
