Dahon Vigor P9 folding bike
Outstanding, ordered on Friday, received on Saturday. Box in very good condition and so was the bike. Ok, the cons, bike really does need to be sent to a bike shop to be set up. I didn't have a wrench for the pedal and I had to adjust the front wheel and handlebar tracking, handlebar was turned to the right about 10 degrees from the front wheel so I had to make an adjustment. Shifting cable was a little loose, causing it to only see 8 of the 9 gears. Easy fix, tighten the cable a few turns by hand. Had to air up the tires, no big deal. Just trivial things. Now for the good things, after the minor adjustments, I was surprised to see that it actually fit me. I am 6 foot tall and my last bike was over maxed out on height. This Dahon Vigor P9 folding bike has room to grow. I think I can raise the seat post probably another 16 cm and it is marked so you don't have to guess when unfolding. When the handlebars are at the full extention, I can look ahead comfortably while riding. I hate being bent over in the city, not on this bike. It does cause me to reach a little forward, but I can adjust the seat forward a little that may help. It has a pretty large front gear and 9th gear will be used for down hill or very level with no wind. Good speed for a fold up. Low gear climbs very well. Plenty of hills in Denver to give you an idea. It does say, no jumping or wheelies or anything like that. It is a commuter bike made for folding to take on the bus or rail. I happen to live in a tiny apartment and a small cubicle at work therefore, folding helps to store in small areas. After a few times folding, I do have it down, unlike my last bike, this really does fold. It also has magnets near the axles to keep it folded. You can fold, pull the seat up and push it around like a dolley. It is what appears to be an aluminum frame, and is about 1/2 to 3/4 the weight of my old bike that was a steel frame. It comes with a DVD or CD with manuals I guess, but I just downloaded the manuals as pdf's on my tablet. On Dahon's website there is a picture page to download showing how to fold, and the manual to download and is written for several of Dahon's bikes so read carefully. It seems to have very good construction and I believe this bike will be with me for years to come.

Dahon Vigor P9 is my new favorite bike!
I love my new Dahon Vigor P9.I did some exhaustive research before deciding on the P9.Shipping was fast but the box was pretty beat-up upon arrival & the chain guard was bent.Assembly was super easy because the bike arrived about 99% complete.I noticed the brakes rubbed a bit so I decide to take it to my local bike shop for a check-up just incase anything was permanently damaged during shipping. They (Sport Chalet) fixed the bent chain guard & adjusted the brakes for free!Spent the afternoon on the Venice bike path & had a blast! Also love that I can throw the bike in my trunk (Honda Accord Coupe) & still have room leftover for groceries etc...The Vigor P9 is a great folding bike with solid components & cool design. On sale it's a fantastic deal but at full price there are better options available.

Great bike, fun to ride, pretty decent on hills
I've had this bike for about a year now and love riding it, it's very responsive, fun to ride, and the gearing has even been sufficient to handle the pretty substantial hills I need to tackle. It's not as light as some other folders, but I've been able to take it on the train when a full-sized bike would have been turned away. With a bit of jury rigging I can even get it to fit on a rear mounted car rack (when there's too much to put in a car), otherwise it fits in most trunks pretty easily with room to spare. Somewhere along the way the clear plastic cover for my gear selector popped off, but other than that everything has held up really well.

So far looks too expensive compared to some good looking other brands i've seen lately
Arrived with 3 big holes and a broken front break with some scratches on body. So far looks too expensive compared to some good looking other brands i've seen lately. Over all performance was satisfactory.

We bought two of these and love them. Owned two Dahon Mariners when we had a sailboat and used them all the time, these are so much lighter and the twist gear change is so nice. Would give these a top rating!!!
