SU Carburetters Tips & Techniques

This book is part of the literature on SU Carburetters recommended by Burlen Ltd. This company is to all intents and purposes 'SU Carburettors'. There are several publications on SU Carburetters and this one contains some very useful information. I found it particularly useful as regards the drawings. I was rebuilding twin HS2 carburettors using the official SU Carburetter Workshop Manual. By cross referencing to this book, it made the rebuild a lot easier to understand and follow. The drawings and figures are highly detailed engineering versions that show each individual numbered component with a description, all very useful. The book also contains useful information and practical tips on tuning all types and models of SU Carburetters. The section on SU Fuel pumps is also highly informative. At the back of the book there is a section that gives full details on fuel system applications for every vehicle that had SU carburetters fitted as standard. All round, a very good and worthwhile addition to the home and professional mechanic's tool kit

If you have an SU Carb, this book is all you need.

Although it contains a lot of useful information ,including needle charts and copious illustrations ,it is spoilt by the use of poor quality print and or paper which at times makes it very difficult to read ( fuzzy) and some of the illustrations blurred and lacking in detail.Whilst this is an excellent reference book it would be much more user friendly if printed to a higher quality.

The books that I purchase are not just for me, I teach automotive engineering for a training provider in my home town. Although we are in an increasingly technical society these books are very useful for broadening the mind of our learners and they benefit enormously from them. I would also recommend them for any DIY enthusiast as a professional automotive engineer they are excellent value for money

very very good book for setting up SU carburettors, pumps and doingsvery informative and correct in detail.there are no photo's of naked ladies, or unnecessary added bulking out.It's just a good book that will be irreplaceable for the old car fiddler.

It has most of the info you need

I've been faffing around for months trying to get the SUs on my old V8 land-rover to speak to each other, they now sing in unison and a lovely burbley song it is. Excellent illustration and text.

Good and thorough from start to finish.
