This is actually my second one. I loved the first one so much I ordered a larger size. I use it all the time, from assembling furniture to providing a gentle "bump" to bike parts during assembly. Every toolbox should have a deadhead hammer.

Really well built. The mallet is surprisingly tough and holds up to my abuse.

I have a brick in sand patio and occasionally have to lift bricks and reset either because they become uneven or to remove weeds, etc. This mallet is very comfortable, sturdy and really does the job pounding the brick back into place before I re-sand. You get what you pay for and this mallet is worth it. Made in the USA. Trust Estwing.

The rubber is well fitted to the handle and is good quality. I’m sure it’ll last me many years. The wood handle is finished well too. The kind of quality I expect from Estwing.

I got this because I have an Estwing claw hammer that's a beautiful tool but sometimes you need a more tender touch. This one isn't quite as pretty, but it sure did the job (removing office chair gas cylinders). I actually look forward to using it again: the handle is nice and smooth, and it just feels right.

I use this for various things around the house and it hasn't let me down.
