Stripped and refinished an Ercol dining suite .very pleased with results especially the table. The small jar of polish & the 500ml tin of wax oil (3 coats ) did 5 chairs 1 table & a side board. I did have to buy extraOil & polish to complete the sideboard .Followed the advice on video no problems. Very helpful when I rang up with a query

Our very old light oak table and benches were in great need of cleaning and renovation. Haven't done this before so watched the Gillboy's 'how to' instructions online and ordered the pure gold wax kit. The product is excellent quality and smells lovely, it also goes a long way and is easy to apply and buff up. The cloths provided were really useful and perfect for the job. Am really pleased with the outcome and the table looks great, just the benches to do now. The photos attached show the table finished and also compare the renovated table against the benches (not yet done) to show the difference.

We bought this to revitalise a Victorian pine cupboard. You do have to work this in to the wood, but it is worth the effort. The wax has a lovely smell, it’s given the pine a lovely natural colour, and it feels silky smooth. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny. It also arrived in a beautifully presented box, with a little packet of sweet peas.

Lovely product. Used around the house on all wood. Expensive but only a very small amount is necessary. Little box of sweat pea seeds included!

Picked a tv stand that I love for it's design, not as happy with it's finish so ordered Gilboys clear wax to put a nicer finish on it. Drawers had no finish at all, pics shows just the fronts waxed and buffed compared to the unfinished internals to give and idea of the small bit of darkening on a light timber. Very easy to apply and buff. What I love about a waxed finish is the feel of softness you get compared to a varnished or laquered finish. It is expensive but goes a very long way. Will order again when I need more

I have used this product on a dining table seriously bleached as a result the effect of 40 years of standing in direct morning sunlight. I followed the procedure recommended in the Gilboy’s You Tube clip and the result has been noticeable. Although not restored to its original colour I am delighted with the change and for the additional advice provided on the telephone by Mr Gilboy when I requested further assistance. In addition the pack was personally addressed and included a small box of sweet pea seeds and labelled “for you and the bees”. Nice touch and glad to say that the seeds have now germinated and are ready for planting out.

I bought Gillboys wax and used it for the first time on a nest of Ercol tables I decided to restore. The wax was excellent, very easy to use and has made a huge difference to the final finish. Not only is the product excellent so was the service I received from Gillboys. The packaging is personalised and carefully done which leaves you in no doubt that you are dealing with a business which cares about it customers.I would recommend the wax and Gillboys without reservation.

Gilboy's was recommended to us where we purchased our furniture. The quality is amazing and so far last a long time. The label says you may wax once a year, that is great and the finish on our furniture really stands out after applying.

I just completed refinishing my 100+ year old walnut dining room table, then applied multiple layers of Gilboys clear bees wax. I think it's the most beautiful wood finish I've ever seen, anywhere, on any piece of furniture! It has a deep rich luster, smooth and velvety to touch, yet doesn't hide the grain.My wife and I have had the dining set for 42 years, and I first refinished thewhole set about 30 years ago using a tung oil-polyurethane blend. It held up very well and looked good, or so I thought. I was happy with it until I recently accidentally ruined the finish. I ended up sanding the table top down to bare wood, then applied 7 coats of pure tung oil, spaced 6-7 days apart. It had the typical matt finish of pure tung oil.While researching finish techniques (I'm an rank amateur) I came across someone on YouTube who spoke highly of Gilboys wax, so I ordered it. I'm amazed at the transformation. Every coat I apply looks better!In the attached photos, the left side has 4 hand rubbed coats, and the right side has 3 so far. At some point I guess I need to stop!

My 300+ year old Italian violin says, "Grazie mille!" The marvelous presentation of this product felt better than Christmas to a big kid. Many thanks for the experience. Wife loves the fragrance, too.

This is definitely a superior product. I have been refinishing furniture for decades and I’ve used the French polishing method of steel wool and wax many times with good results, but hated the smell of other paste waxes. Gilboy’s not only does a beautiful job waxing the finish ((my mother’s old bureau now looks like a preserved antique), but is almost odorless. It was pricey, but definitely worth it. I’m going to be giving all my wood furniture a polishing with it!
