Surprised to see so many negative comments about this! The page clearly indicates that it is a small pamphlet/card for birthdays and other special occasions. Considering it’s not actually that much more expensive than other greeting cards, I think it is completely worth the price. You get several pages of news headlines from the year you select, and there are 3 pages to write on at the end. Personally I got this as a birthday card for my boyfriend, who is a huge history buff, and he thought it was fantastic. This is something he can actually keep unlike other birthday cards that end up in the trash anyway.

oh this is a rip off - a little pamphlet. Thought I was getting a nice book for the money I paid - total of $15. Was going to set out at the reception for people to read and my mom to have as a keepsake to read. It's difficult the see the illustrations - very poor quality. Put together your own booklet.

If you're thinking about ordering this, as I did..... It is NOT what it looks like. It is an overpriced birthday card. I paid $12.00 for a card I would have never ever paid this price for a paper card with a few extra pages.They make it look like it's got some content, but it does not. They made extra pages by putting less information, and spreading everything out.Unfortunately, when I got this, it was too ;late for me to return it and get another birthday gift for this person who made it to the ripe old age of 90. Really disappointed.

Great gift to give someone to remember that special year and full of fun details and genuine ads of the time. Only 4 stars given because it does NOT come with an envelope as stated in the description. Not that big of a deal, but if it says you get an envelope, you should get one. It also would have been a nice touch when giving it to the recipient.EDIT: I contacted the seller and they requested my order # and said that they will "take care of it." If I receive the envelope i'll revise my review to 5 stars.

I was expecting more for the price. It's more like a card. Not as much trivia as I wanted and the cover is not 1977 at all. Was purchased for a 40th anniversary gift along with other 1977 items. The look of it didn't fit with the theme. Probably wouldn't have purchased had I seen it first.

My mother-in-law turned 100 recently and we used this as a table decoration at her party. As soon as she saw it she sat down to look through the illustrations in the book. She talked with the other family members about her memories of her growing up years. This was very special as she was an orphan and has very few mementos from her childhood.

Gift for my dad. He loved it. Found in a local shop but they were out of this year so I looked on Amazon. Crazy thing, Amazon was more expensive then the little gift shop I found it in! But really wanted it so it was worth the extra $2

Bought this from Woolly Mammoth Sales - (Brian Vick), and am so pleased with the fast delivery. This booklet has very interesting ads, facts and trivia. I think my 90 yr old uncle is going to enjoy reading this. I think I'm going to order another one for my aunt. It's hard to find unique gifts for my family, especially because longevity is a big part of it. The item arrived exactly as described. I've seen these in card shops, but there's no guarantee that it will be in stock. Besides, ordering from Amazon saves time and gas. I think the small S&H charge is well worth it.I think these little books are perfect for the elderly, as it shows them what the world was like when they were born. Imagine all of the changes and historical events they have lived in their lives!
