Great product
I used the repair kit on a pair of black lambskin gloves that had gotten stuck in an escalator. While the repair is still visible, it looks much better than the hole and scratches that I started with. The scratches are almost invisible. The repair to the hole is more noticeable, but I found that applying repeated very thin layers and either sanding or wiping with rubbing alcohol in between seemed to give the best result. Since the hole required using more of the color paste, the repair is easier to see. The color paste is shinier and smoother than the leather, stiffer than the extremely soft leather. However the repair is flexible enough not to affect the fit of the gloves, and much less noticeable than a leather patch would have been (which is what my shoe repair shop suggested).

Thsi will ruin your Jacket- DO NOT GET
This is not what it seems, The leather piece is too thick and will leave a round mark. If you want to ruin your Jacket then use this product. This is garbage.

Overkill
This kit is not top-of-the-line. It's adequate for leather repair but not superior. It is difficult to follow some of the steps, and frankly, the kit contains too many unnecessary parts. It would have been nice to have a kit that costs less and is less complicated. The patch it produced, though we were careful to follow the directions, wasn't "magic" -- it was still quite visible and amateurish-looking. Sorry, but this won't be the kit we choose next time.

Works. Not very pretty.
It repaired a big L-shaped tear in my prized black leather jacket on the right elbow, but I can't say I'm really very happy with the end result. It certainly doesn't look anything like the original leather, but it is repaired, and that's more than I could say before when I was walking around worried I was going to catch it on something and rip my sleeve open to the shoulder or wrist. Now it looks more like a 1" circle of hard leather patch. Is it better than it was? Yes. Is it obvious to anyone who looks? Absolutely. Am I glad I repaired it? Yes, unquestionably. Could I do a better job if I had practiced 20 times on scrap letter and learned how to do it before attempting this on my jacket? Maybe. I don't know -- you don't really get that choice. The upshot is it WILL repair a small tear. The larger the tear, though, the more the result will be noticeable, and the less likely you will be pleased with the result. On the other hand, I'd do it again if I had another tear, so I still can't complain too much. I'm keeping the kit "just in case." I haven't found a better alternative, so I am sticking with this one. And the black spray looks like a great way to keep my black leather car seats looking "new" after my dog scratches them next time.

Happy with this product
This was the first time I had to repair a leather jacket. It was a very long rip and I was very skeptical of what the result would be. However, I must say that the product was very easy to work with and the line mark that was left was very minimal so I did not even use the liquid paste and dye. I had to substitute my own backing support material as the ones provided were not big/long enough to support the size/length of the rip. I would recommend the supplier to provide some of this material at least 6" by 2" to accommodate repair with this size. Other than that, I was very impressed as I saved a very expensive leather jacket at minimal cost. I also have enough left over material for my next mishap.

it's okay...
It's better than a tear, but it is a little less inconspicuous than I'd like. It also cracks a little when it's bent. It is seemingly impossible to mimic the actual texture, tone, and finish of the leather. I dunno if it is better or worse than other products, as I have no comparison, but it does an ok job.

Great product!!
I was leary about purchasing this as it only had one previous review and it was just a one star review. I had seen this kit on other sites and it was rated pretty good so I decided to try it. This one sold on Amazon is for BLACK leather only just as the description says and is what I wanted. The instructions were easy to follow and the results were an invisible repair. You would never know it was ripped. I am very pleased with this product.
