It's a bag, it's expensive and it's water resistant. That's about it.
Very well constructed, convenient size for carrying by hand or with the included thin strap. The waterproof fabric has an unusual synthetic texture/feel, seems to be some sort of silicone rubberized woven core material (I'm just guessing here). The handle wrap snaps closed, which can get annoying after repeatedly opening and closing. I would have preferred a magnetic closure, since all the snaps do is keep the wrap in place.Design is simple and utilitarian. Nothing really exciting about a single-compartment bag, but it gets the job done. Will be interesting to see how well it wears, because the bottom of the bag has zero scuff or skid protection on the edges or corners.A more robust clip-on shoulder strap would have been a welcome enhancement, as would an internal pocket for keeping the shoulder strap separate and accessible when not in use. But all in all, it's a nice bag.

Minimalist bag with excellent materials & craftsmanship
I’ve found RAINS to make very nice, minimalist style bags. I’ve been using their rolltop trail pack for short hikes and drone photography and the combination of quality waterproof materials is hard to beat. This weekend bag has the same high quality materials in a different form factor and is working out great for me so far as a duffel bag for short trips. I can easily fit a weekend’s worth of clothes along with my toiletry and tech pouches in here and still have enough room left over for a light jacket. Build quality and overall craftsmanship is excellent; I particularly like the metal hardware covered in a soft touch rubber which just feels nicer than typical plastic. The style is pretty minimal, there aren’t a bunch of pockets and compartments, but if you’re looking for simplicity and space that’s well made and understated looking, RAINS bags are hard to beat and easy to recommend.

durable bag for travels
wish it had pockets inside :/ it's really big and roomy it's just hard to section things in there cause you don't really know where the bottom is. It's really durable and it's not really a helpful feature for me personal but I think it's cool that it's waterproof

No frills weekend bag
I've used the RAINS Hilo Weekend Bag Small in black for two short trips. I like to pack light and keep things simple, and this bag does the job well. The waterproof feature is helpful. I don’t have to stress about my stuff getting wet if I get caught in the rain or put the bag down on a damp surface. The material feels sturdy but still flexible, making it easy to pack. The size is just right for a weekend trip. I can fit a couple of outfits, toiletries, and some extra items without cramming everything in.The shoulder strap is adjustable and doesn’t dig into my shoulder, even when the bag is fully packed. The handles are sturdy and comfortable to hold too. The zipper moves smoothly along the entire distance of the zip without binding. There are a couple of minor downsides. The bag doesn’t have interior compartments, so organizing smaller items can be a bit tricky. I ended up using a few small pouches to keep things sorted. Also, it might be a bit small for those who need to pack more.

Good for hauling cargo on my electric bike
I love using my electric bike for small errands like picking up a few items from the grocery store or returning things to the library. I chose this bag because it fits perfectly in the cargo basket affixed to the rear of the bike AND it is waterproof. I rarely ride in the rain but unexpected showers to happen. For my needs - a permanent fixture in the cargo basket - this is plenty sturdy and just the right size (I wouldn't want a bigger bag even if it would fit in the basket, as it makes it harder to balance). I probably would not use it as a weekend travel bag, but it would be a good choice if traveling to wet locations like Ireland or the Pacific Northwest. This is my second bag from RAINS and they are good quality and stylish.
