I really enjoy reading them with my kids
We bought this for my son when he was doing a First world war topic at nursery. The See inside series books are always well received. They are aimed at the right level and are interesting for children with all the different flaps. I really enjoy reading them with my kids.

Good quality, but a bit pricey.
Well researched and good quality content. Good overview of WW1 for kids given there are so few pages. Some of the books in this series, with the same number of pages and flaps (such as on Science and How Things Work), cost only GBP 3.99 when bought at Lidl. Thus, paying over GBP 10 for this item seems very expensive.

Brilliant at answering inquisitive 5 year olds questions.
Bought this for my 5 year old.for Christmas after he became interested following armistice day.Answered so many questions I couldn't answer, also provided many facts he was enthralled with. Brilliant illustrations and my son loves the interactive nature of the lift flaps.

Amazing book
This was a gift for my 8 year old and he LOVES it and has probably read it, flipped the flaps over 100 times. Great illustrations and memorable bits of information. We have the WW2 book as well and would love to see more - Revolutionary War, Civil War.

Perfetto per insegnare L inglese a mio figlio di 8 anni, appassionato di storia e soprattutto di battaglie e soldati. Ho acquistato anche quello sulla seconda guerra mondiale

My 5yo daughter loved this book.
We were reading Madeline and my daughter asked about the picture of an injured French soldier. This necessitated mentioning WWII, then WWI. This book is maybe better for a slightly older child but my little girl loved it. It was super informative about the War without being too graphic.

A Far-ranging Wonder of a Book
I've always been interested in World War I, and have read many history books on the topic. Now my interest has expanded into exploring how the War has been illustrated and remembered in later years. This book only has a few pages (ten 2-page spreads), but is full of exquisitely-drawn details. It would be a perfect introduction to this subject for a child, or even an interested adult. The overt horrors of the war are not illustrated, but the pictures and captions leave no doubt that the whole affair involved much suffering and death. Even the engineering of the book's format deserves praise. It's amazing how much information was conveyed on and under the cleverly-placed flaps. I own the Usborne "Pirates" and "World War II" flap books as well. I'm fond of them, too, and this book is worthy to join them on my shelves.
