Hornby R1149 Disney Toy Story 3 00 Gauge Electric Train Set

I read the reviews of this train and was not going to buy it. Im glad that I ignored the reviews as when it came my kids and I loved it. I have bought this train to go at the bottom of my Christmas tress and it looks and perfoms perfectly. My two girls are also very impressed with it as the find the coupling of the trains easy to put together, their is also a plastic wheel guide that allows them to put the train on the track without having to line everything up. The girls has asked that once the tree is put away the track stays out for them to play with, Ive also been able to run my old trains on the track which are now 30+ years old and still going.Remember this is a fun train set for kids and they dont care about the little details.Good product and bargin at the reduced price.

Great looking product, my 2.5 yr old will love it once I have put it on backboard, be carefull as it comes with a european plug!! to buy uk plug an additional £13.00 so price isnt that great to be honest, obviously you could buy a £1.50 adaptor but do you really want to run through a cheap plastic adaptor?

I bought this a couple of months ago for my Grandson for his December birthday.It was cheap compared to other sellers so I thought I would get it early and put it away.When it arrived I checked the contents just to make sure it was all there as it wouldn't be used for a while yet. Everything was OK.It was my grandson's birthday yesterday. His little face as he opened it was a joy to behold. He was so excited.Then we began to put it together............It really is poorly made. Apart from the engines electric motor the rest of the train/wagons/controller components are cheap and nasty plastic.After half a dozen laps of the track the engine lost a tiny screw that fixes the connector rod on the engines main wheels. We were lucky to find the screw as it is so small, however we did and we replaced it but it came off again, and again.....The coupling mechanism for joining the cars together is awful. Very small, fiddly and difficult.The controller is very flimsy and cheap looking. The slider switch for forward and reverse did not work. Hence the train cannot go in reverse.The TrakMat? ... Do they mean the large glossy coloured sheet of not very heavyweight paper? I am sorry but that's what it is. Whoever thought it should be called a play mat really does have a vivid imagination.I really wish I hadn't bought it. Thank goodness I didn't pay the full RRP as I really would have been aggrieved.I am now in the process of trying to get a refund. ( And looking for a suitable alternative for my grandson)Update: My refund was authorised immediately and processed as soon as they (STRAIGHT2YOU) received the item back.STRAIGHT2YOU, the supplier were fantastic. They were helpful, courteous and efficient all the way. A pleasure to deal with. Thank you.

I don't know if 'finiky' is a word but this train has to be exactly on the rails and 'de-rails' very easily, no way suitable for young boys in my opinion

The product arrived on time - and it's fairly good quality, would buy the same product from the same people again.It's the only one you can buy that it toy story though.

Bought it for my children whao are a bit young for it really - but Dad isnt! They have absolutely loved it and a good introduction to model train sets, which I think they will get into. Imagination is going out of control with them when they are playing with it - good choice.

Christmas present for my 5 year old son but to be honest this type of toy is really for an older child. The wheels are very tricky to get on the track, which can make it very frustrating to play with.
