I found out about the availability of these cookie cutters after watching a German baker making cinnamon stars. My first attempt with a standard star cutout made me frustrated. It was sticking and I could not transfer the cookie to the sheet without destroying the star shape. With these cutouts you can pick up the dough and transfer to the cookie sheet and release it with the opener. It works perfectly! Wish I could have purchased the larger size and get it by Christmas but it is on my list. If you want to make German cinnamon stars or Zimtsterne you’ll be thankful to have the right instrument to do the job!
