Excellent Quality, very sharp, and outstanding for my wood turning lathe

When I purchased these it only had 2 - 5 star vine reviews, which I was a little suspicious about. Upon inspection, it had a usable (not furniture quality, obviously) wooden box to hold the tools. The shafts were securely mounted inside solid wooden handles with rubber grips at the end. Included in the box were wrenches and spare screws.Before, I had used 20" long shared shop tools for bowls and such with much shorter ones for pens so I was slightly concerned about the 18.3" length of these. I have since used them to turn 4 pens, a 6 by 11" bud vase and a 2 by 6" bowl. In all cases, the length was fine. The.handles are very sturdy and absorbed the vibration when roughing quite well. I should also note I did not rotate the cutters after this as they are still sharp.One thing that sold me about these tools is that each one has their own handle, something many cheaper sets do not.Although I am basically a.beginning turner, I have used some of the better tools like Easy Wood. I like these tools a lot and would buy them again but I recognize they are good but not the equal of the best tools, so I give them a solid 4 star rating.For the price, a beginning or intermediate turner cannot go wrong with these.

I thought I would try the carbide tools. Heard pros and cons. Just tried them out today they worked out great. I will use both still and carbide. Well worth the money.

I liked the case it came in. Only complaint i might have is it should come with extra tips.Game changer for me not having to sharpen the tips.Would buy again. may buy another one just to avoid having to change shafts.

A great value, finished turning my first bowl with this high quality tool set. Easier to use then the traditional bowl gouge especially for a newbie.
