That are plain black and they have soft pads on the bottom of the horizontal part so they don’t scratch or slip. I am happy with them for their functionality. They don’t try to be pretty or amazing beyond the scope of their design. Buy some; you will be satisfied too I’m sure

These look great on my bookshelf. What I mean is you can’t see them, they are almost invisible, which is exactly what I wanted.

Bookends are great, sturdy material and don't show smears too much after holding them. It means you can see the covers more easily if using for display purposes. My only gripe is the bookends do come in so much plastic which is a shame. They are individually wrapped and then wrapped again as pairs and it just seems unnecessary.

I like these acrylic bookends so much that the day after they were delivered I ordered Qualsen's alternative heavy black iron ones as well. I will be talking about them in a separate review. Suffice it to say here that the two types are both brilliant in their own ways, but have slightly different uses and virtues.This is a household drowning in books. I identify with the late Clive James when he mentioned that he was sometimes obliged to re-purchase a book that he knew he already possessed because it was impossible for him to lay his hand on it. With these large, simple bookends I will be able to use the ample mantelpieces in my Victorian house as extra book-space. The acrylic bookends will show off the beautiful covers and dust jackets. (Books are so attractive these days.) Who needs ornaments when they have books?I am a little concerned that the acrylic may also show fingerprints, but that doesn't seem to have happened so far. I would have appreciated some guidance from the seller as to how exactly to clean them. S/he says they are easy to clean, but how?Is the current price of £15.98 for 6 items reasonable? Given that these are likely to be your forever bookends, and given that they may save your books from wear and tear as well as from disappearing into your (judging you by myself!) general clutter and chaos, I'd probably say "yes".

Ahhh, books, those lovely pieces of literature, that we all adore and read to drift off into our own imagination, and a world away from this one…. But why can’t books just not fall down?! Silly books.Cool. So yeah, these are book ends - but you know what, I didn’t actually buy these to help books stand-up (even though I am actually going to use them for that, because you actually get three pairs… so six book ends in total in this pack), I actually bought these to help my Sam, mega drive games, not fall over, and I can now confidently, that those mega drive games are lovely and vertical, and are at no risk of topping over. Thanks to these glorious book ends!I’m not entirely sure what to say in regards to these, because everyone reading this review is fully aware of want a book end is, and if you’re not… well, they are simple, L-shaped, sturdy, plastic (other materials are available when it comes to book end options), that’s it at either end of your books, Anne help to keep the books stand up - simple. Anyway, I guess this review is a very positive, because I bought them for a specific purpose and they have successfully ticked that box and now like I say, my mega Drive games have a book and holding them in place - I am yet to actually use these with books, but I assume I will have no issues at all - therefore, I would thoroughly recommend these to anyone who requires a book end to hold their books, Games or anything else which is a similar size to a book, which needs a little bit extra support.

These are good quality heavy bookends. I’ve been trying them out in the school library for a month and they’ve stood up well to normal library use. Dimensions are as described in the Amazon listing. The book ends came with a metal bookmark, which was a nice touch. In terms of cost, when compared to similar products from the library supplies company that I normally use, they are cheaper and of comparable quality. I will be switching to buying more of these in future.I’m happy with this product and would recommend them to others for both home and library use.

I purchased these book ends as our toddler has quite the book collection, but running out of space. We put some shelving up and needed some book ends to keep all her books from falling over.Upon receipt, these book ends felt like thin sheet metal and was skeptical these would manage many books – I was right.On my toddlers shelf, I have been forced to use all 6 book ends to stop her books from falling over due to how thin these are, which cannot hold the weight of more than 7-8 hardback books at a time. I would predict these would be much better for a small book collection, DVDs or a collection of paperbacks as these tend to be a lot lighter than hardback books.I do love the simplicity and the book ends are big/wide enough. It’s just a shame they are so thin so cannot hold much weight.However, I would say the price is about right for the product. I would recommend, for the right job.
