Goldsource ST-1500 1500 Watt Step Down/Up Voltage Converter

I am using this in Canada to run my UK Kit which is not a situation that is common i think. I run my PC/XBOX 360/Xbox One and my Synology NAS off it through an APC ES700 UPS. The NAS is on 24/7 with the PC and X boxes on when they are in use only. I have had no issues with the converter and I would recommend it to anyone coming to North America as a way to run your UK/European kit here. For forces personnel posted here I would say it is a must have and could save you a fortune in new electronics on arrival. This has been one of the best purchases I have ever made from Amazon.

Does what it says on the tin!Bought this product to use with a vacuum cleaner from Canada - works great, saved me from buying a new vacuum when I returned to U.K.Planning on using for some Christmas lights as well - but not got round to that yet!Product is heavier than expected, but I don't need to move it around much.You do also get the background buzzing as with any transformer - but the hoover is on so I don't hear it!

I was also one of the few for whom this product did not last. I only use it for a Cuisinart Food Processor and a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer and it only lasted about 6 months. It was used a fair amount in that time, maybe 20-30 times, but now it just won't do anything when it's turned on. I thought it may have just been the fuse gone, but alas, no.

I have moved back to the UK from 110 volt land. I have a clothes steamer, a large laser printer, a high powered electric drill. These are what I have used plugged into this device, without any hassle. Just plug it in the right holes and it just works. No problems whatsoever and I will buy one or two more in the next year as other items of 110 volt stuff needs to be got working. The delivery was great, too.

I have had 2 of these and am just in the throes of returning the second. The North American plug socket is faulty on the 1500W converter and only worked for a couple of weeks. Very disappointing as the same thing happened with the other 1500W we had. I do have a 1000W that I have had for almost a year which I have had no problems with.

Does what it says, but rather large and bulky ---and more expensive than the American deep fryer it was meant for!

Good product. I use this in my UK apartment to power all my electronics I brought over from the USA. Works well. I have used it with 1000w clothes irons and it is fine. Also use it with my PS3 and it is good.Doesn't run hot or anything.Very heavy though, so be aware of that. And the plug cord is not the longest thing in the world so you may need to pair it with an extension cord.

No noise, easy to use.
