Project Management Absolute Beginner's Guide

Love the book, not an absolute beginners guide
This isn't quite for beginners in project management. This is an expert trying to speak to beginners with over 25 years of experience. Always a challenge to distill a lifetime of information down to one resource. And, beginners don't need all of this information at the beginning. A lot will go in one ear and out the other.Still, I recommend it. And, I'm giving it the full five stars. It is a required textbook in a class I'm instructing. Some students are overwhelmed by it and others say they love that it has all the details that they can access later when they are more experienced. So, my primary "issue" is the title and not the book. I've managed a lot of projects and if I was asked to write a book, I'd include everything this book shares too. I understand the dilemma of how in-depth to go in a book like this when some people reading it haven't even participated on a team at work yet, let alone step into leading one.I'm keeping it as a reference to remind myself of the ins and outs of project management. It is an excellent resource.

The Best Project Management Book
I've read a lot of project management books, and this is by far the best. Well written and organized, and addresses many important issues the others did not.

It has a nice flow, isn't too short or too long
I've found this book to address all the basic principles of project management in a logical order, without being too technical. It has a nice flow, isn't too short or too long, and all of the little "tips" and "notes" I have found to be accurate in the real world of project management - even in the Entertainment industry in which I work.

Textbook that is useful beyond the classroom.
Bought this as a text book for a project management class as part of a graduate program. The books is written in language that is easy to understand with good use of pictures/graphics to support the text.

Worth a read, but...
I think this book is insightful and it has some helpful tips to start down your PM road. I didn’t like how it was written like a presentation with a ton of backward/forward referencing and it reiterated points A LOT, it could have been about 10 chapters shorter. I also didn’t care for the authors side jokes/sarcasm, took away from the message that you were reading.

It's an easy to follow along with book for a first time user. I recommend getting this book even if you're not employed in a position as a Project Manager. You can be a housewife, mother, entrepreneur and more. You're still in the role of a Project Manager in those areas of your life.

Great starter guide, but good for those moving towards certification.
This is a wonderful guide for the non-project manager who wants to dip a toe into PM without worrying about ever going for their PRINCE2 or PMP certification. However, this guide is a great foundation should you decide you'd like to move forward in PM, so don't worry about feeling as though you'll "waste" time and money should you want to pursue PM professionally down the line. Well written without overpowering jargon, it's an easy read and well suited for the Kindle.
