Gathering Remastered

This is, in my humble opinion, one of Testament's best, heaviest, and strongest albums. After experimenting with their sound quite a bit in the 90's (the Black Album inspired The Ritual, the groove metal Low, and the death metal Demonic), Testament combined the best of what they've done and brought it all into one absolutely devastating thrash album. There genuinely is not a weak song on this album, starting off with D.N.R., one of their best and heaviest songs, and ending with Fall of Sipledome, a song of equal caliber. Other highlights include the ferocious Down for Life, the brooding Eyes of Wrath, the oddly catchy True Believer, and the absolutely brutal Legions of the Dead (my favorite Testament song). They have not yet released an album since this one to top it.

Testament has many great albums, but my favorite is this one. The sheer energy, the groove, the riffs...I think everything is top notch. You get Billy-Peterson-Lombardo-Murphy-DiGiorgio and you get this. This is the remastered version. I prefer the original because I thought the remaster was too compressed. But, luckily, it doesn't distract from how great the music is. The original is also out of print so this is a better bet to have the CD in your collection. That's why I got it - I already knew the album well. Deserves a 5 star rating.

I love the band Testament, great music, the CD plays fine, the problem is that the album uses these new paper/cardboard and plastic CD holder cases that I have seen a lot of. I have to store the CD in a regular jewel casebecause I have trouble freeing the CD when I push on the plastic of center CD holder, I am afraid to break the CD.Because of this, I had to cut the paper/cardboard box, to fit in a standard CD jewel case.

Kick ass album and there best one to date....in my opinion.Masterpiece

I Had this CD years ago and liked it, but after a few years, getting this remaster, I don't remember liking this CD quite this much. I recommend the Remaster over the original. I'm gonna grab the Demonic CD next. Just a terrific sounding album, almost flawless. One thing is the songs are not overly long, which I like. I think these 4 to 5 minute (mostly) songs are right and the sound of the CD is righteous!

Less compressed than the original. Always liked this album. Testament sounded great with Dave Lombardo's frantic groove behind them. NOW REMASTER THE ALBUM LOW.

Fast shipping from UK (Chalkys CA) seller packaged item very well. I always had a copy of this on cassette, which is pretty beat up now over the years of listening. Having this on vinyl for the first time is a must for any Testament fan. Under estimated album. This is a 180g pressing, gatefold, its dead silent, has good dynamics, good punchy mix! Chucks voice seems louder and more clearer on this. Comes with all lyrics. Glad I found this on Amazon for a great price. Well done.

Cuando parecía que nadie tenía mucho más que aportar el género y las grandes bandas que lo hicieron crecer lo abandonaron, llegan los irreductibles de Testament junto al ex-batería de slayer, el señor Dave Lombardo, y nos regalan esta maravilla. El disco que les hubiera gustado grabar a Metallica después del Black Album.
